There are instances when you might encounter an error that says, “Something went wrong, We couldn’t start your program” when you open any Office program. This could be due to an issue with the Office file and any Office app you open throws the same error message. Note: When you choose to repair, you might be given two options which depend on how Microsoft Office was installed. For instance, it was installed via Web Installer or Offline Installer (MSI-based). In Web Installer, select Online Repair > Repair when you’re prompted on how you would like to repair Office. While in MSI-based, you have to select Repair under “Change your installation” and then click on Continue. The repair process makes sure that the app data remains untouched.
Option 3 – Try to uninstall and reinstall Office
If neither of the two given options above worked, then you might want to uninstall Office and reinstall it. All you have to do is download the Microsoft Office Uninstall tool from the official site of Microsoft and run it. This will remove any incomplete Office installation as well as unwanted files. It will also get rid of all the Office apps and settings on your computer.

After opening Command Prompt as administrator, execute the following command:

The command you entered will create a link between the executable file of Steam to the operating system. Once you see a message that states, “Operation completed successfully”, restart your computer.
Option 3 – Try to use the “Verify integrity of the game files” feature
The next thing you can do to get rid of the error is to use the “Verify integrity of the game files” feature. How? Refer to these steps:
Open Steam and right-click on the entry of the game where you encountered the error in the Library and then select Properties.
After that, navigate to the LOCAL FILES tab and click the “VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME FILES” button.
Wait for the process to be completed and see if the feature has helped in fixing the error or not.
Option 4 – Try to delete any conflicting files
The error might be caused by some conflicting files on your computer which is why you have to delete them. To do that, follow these steps:

The Snapping feature was introduced as an essential part of Windows 11 and I like it very much, it lets you organize your opened windows much faster and with more control. However, some people do not like the feature, worry not because you can turn it off, or if you prefer you can just remove the showing layout option that is shown when hovering over Minimize/Maximize button.
Removing options all together
To completely turn off Snap layout in Windows 11 follow these steps
Open Windows 11 settings by pressing ⊞ Windows + I
Select System on the left part of the screen
In System options select Multitasking
At the top of Multitasking Click on the switch next to Snap Windows
Close settings
Changes will be automatically applied and you will no longer have Snap layout functionality.

If you like the snap Layouts feature but are not very fond of the layout graphic that is popping up each time you hover over Minimize/Maximize button do not worry, there is an option to turn just that off and keep the feature itself.

Click on the Snap Windows menu
Deactivate Show Snap Layouts When I Hover over a Window’s Maximize button

Now you will be able to use the Snap Layout feature without layout graphics showing. If you want to reverse any of these options and go back to standard-setting, just follow the steps and turn features ON.
Long working hours on a laptop can have some issues with laptop heating and thus slowing down. Today we will take a look at how can you prevent it from heating and keep it in a normal temperature range so it lasts longer and works better.
Close unnecessary programs or browser tabs
Usually, the main reason for high laptop temperature is the heavy and constant workload. Of course, the solution is very simple, turn off unnecessary browser tabs or applications running in the background, and less power will be needed for operation thus directly reducing workload and temperature.
Place it on a hard flat surface
Laptops generally have vents on the side and even under them, these vents, of course, are made so hot air is disposed of through them but if they are covered that will create issues. Placing computers on textiles, pillows, and legs can obstruct their venting holes and increase heat also since they are materials that are not taking heat away.
Your best practice should be placing the laptop onto a hard flat surface so air can flow freely and if you need to keep it in your lap there are lap desks made for this purpose.
Clean the laptop
With some good cleaning, the laptop can stop overheating, and generally, it will be cooler. Vents that has for ventilation can get clogged over large periods of time due to dust which is always present. Compressed air can be a quick easy solution to open the vents and redust it. Other methods include a compressor, vacuum, or brush in order to quickly remove any dust clogs. Taking it into service for complete redusting and paste change is also a great option.
Place it on the dedicated pad
There is some disagreement about using dedicated cooling pads for laptops, some say they are not effective at all, and some swear by them but from my experience good paired laptop and pad can indeed help with cooling it down. Usually, cooling pads will come with fans that will take away heat from the laptop itself reducing its overall heat.
Change your Windows power plan
If your laptop is constantly hot but you are not doing much with him check Windows power settings. There is a good chance it is set to run on a high-performance plan and if this is the case switch it back to a balanced power setting. Power plan like high performance will drain more power and more power will mean more heating. Of course, this will affect performance as well but for regular work that excludes some power gaming, video, and picture manipulations and other demanding tasks this power plan will work just fine.
Take control of the fans inside your laptop
Internal cooling is important and sometimes fans are not running to their full capacity so increasing their speed or changing their plan of work can cool down the computer nicely. Some laptops have fans controlling application already on them, especially gaming laptops but most of them do not. If your laptop does not have it, go to your laptop brand website and see if such an application exists for your model, if it does, download and install it but if there is no such application try general free ones like SpeedFan or Argus Monitor.
Reduce voltage of CPU and GPU
How more power means more heat, reducing the power that CPU and/or GPU take can be reduced inside BIOS by lowering voltage of these 2 components. First, go to BIOS and write down the voltage that is currently assigned to your CPU and/or GPU so you can bring it back if ever needed, also take note that reducing voltage and thus power will not affect negatively your components but increasing it thus overclocking can and will so be careful when bringing voltage back not to overdo it. You can always also reset your BIOS settings to bring them back to factory settings.
Do not use the laptop when charging it
When the laptop is placed on the charger in order to be charged and used at the same time, more power is drawn to it, and since the battery is taking electric charge instead of providing it more heat will be generated now since two different sources will be generating it, the battery itself and computer. When you really can not wait for the laptop to be charged, use it, but turn it off and wait to be fully charged if you can.
You might be familiar with the Encryption File System or EFS algorithm if you rather keep your files and folders encrypted. Encryption File System is a built-in feature in Windows 10 which allows users to secure their important files. Although there is an alternative way for you to secure your data on your Windows 10 computer, you can’t ignore the fact that the main advantage of an Encryption File System over BitLocker is that the former can help you encrypt a particular folder rather than encrypting the whole hard drive partition.
If you move a file inside a folder encrypted with the Encrypting File System it will automatically get encrypted. There are some users who like this feature but unsurprisingly, there are some that don’t. So if whether you want your files encrypted when you place them in an encrypted folder or if you want to keep it as it is, read on as to how you can do it either way. You can enable or disable automatic encryption of files moved to encrypted folders in Windows 10 using the Registry Editor or the Group Policy Editor.
Before you proceed, make sure to create a System Restore Point first because the modifications you’re about to make in your computer might affect its overall functioning so if anything goes wrong, you can always undo the changes. Once you have that covered, refer to the options given below to enable or disable automatic encryption in Windows 10.
Option 1 – Enable or disable automatic encryption using Registry Editor
Press the Win key + R key at the same time to open the Run dialog box.
Then type “Regedit” in the field and press Enter to open the Registry Editor and if a User Account Control or UAC prompt appears, just click Yes to proceed.
After opening the Registry Editor, navigate to this key location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesExplorer
Next, right-click on Explorer and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value and then name the newly create DWORD to “NoEncryptOnMove” and press Enter to save it.
After that, double click on the NoEncryptOnMove DWORD and set its value to the following preferences:
1 – Disable Auto Encryption of files moved to encrypted folders.
0 – Enable Auto Encryption of files moved to encrypted folders.
Now close the Registry Editor and restart your computer to successfully apply the changes made.
Option 2 – Enable or disable automatic encryption using the Group Policy Editor
Press the Win + R keys to open the Run box and type “gpedit.msc” in the field and press Enter to open the Group Policy Editor.
After that, navigate to this path: Computer ConfigurationAdministrative TemplatesSystem
Next, look for the “Do not automatically encrypt files moved to encrypted folders” option and double click on it to set the policy. From there, you will see the following description:
“This policy setting prevents File Explorer from encrypting files that are moved to an encrypted folder. If you enable this policy setting, File Explorer will not automatically encrypt files that are moved to an encrypted folder. If you disable or do not configure this policy setting, File Explorer automatically encrypts files that are moved to an encrypted folder. This setting applies only to files moved within a volume. When files are moved to other volumes, or if you create a new file in an encrypted folder, File Explorer encrypts those files automatically.”
Now select one of the radio buttons below depending on your preference:
Not Configured or Disabled: Enable Auto Encrypt of files moved to EFS Encrypted folders.
Enabled: Disable Auto Encrypt of files moved to EFS Encrypted folders.
Then click on the Apply and OK buttons to save the changes made.
Exit the Group Policy Editor and restart your computer.
Error code 0xc004f050 refers to a problem with activating the Windows key. The problem appears when you try to activate a copy of Windows by using Windows Activation wizard. This happens when the system becomes unstable and critical system files start missing. Though Windows 10 is a free upgrade for Windows 7/Windows 8/Windows 8.1 users, the activation error is still an issue. If you already had Windows 7/Windows 8/Windows 8.1 activated and did an upgrade successfully, then there should be no problem. This Problem Occurs only when you do a clean install.
Symptoms
When you try to activate a copy of Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using the Windows Activation wizard, you receive an error similar to the one below:

Solution
Error Causes
This causes due to an invalid product key.
This problem may occur if the license validity interval has expired, or if the license is not signed correctly.
Error Code 0xc004f050 occurs when the system becomes unstable and critical system files start missing.
Improper way of installing, deletion of some very important system files, misconfigured system files, etc. may also cause this error.
When you do a clean install, it wipes everything from the Primary Drive and after the install, windows can't find the Hardware ID which is used to verify your license.
For Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Vista-based computers, this error may occur if you have entered the key for a beta version of the operating system while using the released version of the operating system.
Further Information and Manual Repair
This error is not something that can be fixed in seconds but will require some time and technical knowledge.
Method 1:
Re-insert the product key by using the Change Product Key tool:
Click Start, click Computer, and then click System properties on the toolbar.
In the Windows activation section, click Change product key.
If you are prompted for an administrator password, type the password or click Continue.
In the Product key box, type the product key, and then click Next.
Follow the steps in the Windows Activation Wizard to complete the activation process.
Method 2:
Activate Windows by using the automated telephone system:
Click Start, and then click Computer.
Click System properties on the toolbar, and then click Click here to activate Windows now in the Windows activation
If you are prompted for an administrative password, type it and click Continue.
Click Show me other ways to Activate.
Click Use the automated phone system and follow the instructions.
Method 3:
Clean install Windows 7/Windows 8/Windows 8.1 using the installation disk and activate your copy.
Now, download all the updates to see the Windows 10 Upgrade notification or download Windows Media Creation Tool and use the option Upgrade this PC to get Windows 10 right away.
Once the upgrade is done, check the Activation Status. It will be fully activated as it should be. The Error code 0xc004f050 should not appear anymore.
If you want to get rid of the old Windows installation folder, then use the Windows Media Creation Tool to create a Flash Drive. Clean Install Windows 10. Now, every time when it asks for a product key, skip it. After installation is complete, Windows will automatically identify and activate your Copy.
NOTE: Clean Install will make Sure you cannot roll back to your previous Windows 7 or Windows 8. So do it only if you are confident of using Windows 10 from here on.
To verify the Windows activation status, follow these steps:
Click the Start button, and then click Computer.
Click System properties on the toolbar, and then view the activation status in the Windows activation section.
As you know, the Office Language Packs need to be installed right after installing Office. It also has to be on the correct version of Office so if any of these conditions are not met, you will most likely get error codes 30053-4 or 30053-39 when you install a language pack in Microsoft Office. If you are currently facing this error, read on as this post will help you fix the problem. Here’s the full context of the error message:
“Something went wrong, Sorry, installation cannot continue because no compatible office products are detected.”
When you have to work on two different languages, that’s where the language packs come in handy. You might have to work on one language but when it comes to proofreading or help, you need another language. If you are using Office 365 or Office 2019, 2016, 2013, or 2010, you need to go to the language accessory pack page from office.com and select your language. Once you see the download link, click on it to start downloading the pack. It includes the display in the chosen language, proofing tools for the selected language, as well as the Help in the selected language. After you installed everything correctly, the error code 30053-4 or 30053-39 should now be fixed.

Method 1 – Check The Cause of The BSOD Error
Two common causes of the KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED issue are hardware incompatibility and faulty device driver or system service.
If you experience this error, check first if any of your newly installed hardware is compatible with Windows 10. You can find the required hardware for Windows 10 from this link.

If you’re upgrading using the Windows 10 update, make sure that you disconnect from your Wi-Fi or Internet LAN (Ethernet) connection as soon as the download reaches 100% before attempting to start the set-up.
Other users also reported that the cause of the KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED issue is BitDefender. If this is what happened in your case, it will show in the error message such as KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (bdselfpr.sys). Users reported that a common solution for this is renaming the file. In the case of BitDefender, try renaming it to bdselfpr.s__. However, make sure to do this cautiously. Sometimes, renaming a file will even do more damage than good.

If you’re connected to any general USB devices (such a smart card reader), disable it. If your computer is connected to other external devices, disconnect all of them. Examples of this include gaming controllers, printers, external hard disk, USB keys, and other non-essential devices).

Upgrade using an .ISO file, instead of directly upgrading from Windows Update. When you do this, make sure you’re disconnected from the Internet during installation. If the process started and you forgot to disconnected, it’s best to restart the installation.
If you’re connected to a domain while trying to set up Windows 10, disconnect and use a local account.
If you’re using a SCSI hard disk, connect a thumb drive with the drivers for your storage device. While Windows 10 is setting up, click on the Custom Advanced Option. Using the thumb drive, use the Load Driver command to load the SCSI drive.
Another possible cause of this error is due to BIOS incompatibility. BIOS issues can be solved by upgrading your version of your system BIOS. If you don’t know how to do this, refer to your BIOS manufacturer’s website.

Hello and welcome to another great tutorial about how to get the maximum out of your Windows 10, today our topic will be recording your screen using Windows 10 game mode.
In order to start recording first, we need to bring game mode by pressing ⊞ WINDOWS + G
In the Game Bar overlay screen, look for the “Capture” window.
If you don’t see it, click the Widget menu icon on the left. It looks like several lines with bullet points to their left.
A drop-down list will appear; click “Capture.” The “Capture” shortcut may also be in the Game Bar toolbar.
Look for the “Capture” widget window in the overlay. There are four buttons on the Capture widget (from left to right):

Record last 30 seconds: Creates a recording of the previous 30 seconds.
Start recording: Starts recording your active window.
Turn on the mic while recording: If this option is enabled, Windows 10 will capture audio from your computer’s microphone and include it in the recording.
You’ll notice text underneath the buttons. This is how you’ll know what the active window is, aka what will be recorded. For example, if you’re browsing the web, it will show the title of the open tab.
To start recording your screen, you must first decide whether you want to use your mic, which is useful if you’re trying to explain something on the screen.
Next, simply click the Start Recording button.
The screen recording will begin, and you’ll see a little toolbar appear in the corner of the screen. It will show the running time of the recording, and it also has buttons to stop recording and toggle the microphone.
When you’re finished, click the Stop icon to end the recording.
From the Capture widget, click “Show All Captures” to see your recording.
Your recording will be at the top of the list. Click the folder icon to see all recordings and screenshots in File Explorer.
These recordings are stored under your Windows user folder at C:\Users\NAME\Videos\Captures by default.
The Adaptive Brightness setting in Windows 10 is a useful setting you can use in adjusting your computer’s brightness. It helps you get the brightness automatically based on the light around your computer. However, there are times when it does not work or it doesn’t turn off when you want it to. If this issue happened right after you update or install Windows 10, then read on as this post will give you a couple of options you can try to resolve the problem.
Option 1 – Try to run the Power Troubleshooter
The first thing you can do to resolve the issue with Adaptive Brightness is to run the Power Troubleshooter as the problem could occur due to some conflicted power settings. To use it, refer to the following steps:
Open the Windows 10 Settings panel and go to Update & Security and then to Troubleshoot.
After that, scroll down to your left-hand side and click the Power option.
From there, you should see the “Run the troubleshooter” button. Click on it to fix the problem.
Afterward, follow the next on-screen instructions that follow.
Option 2 – Try disabling or turning off the corresponding options in GPU settings
The problem might be due to the Graphics card settings. If you are using either an AMD graphics card or the HD graphics of Intel, you may have to disable the power-related options in the GPU settings. To be specific, you have to disable the Vari-Bright in AMD graphics card settings or the Display Power Saving Technology under Intel’s Graphics panel.
AMD users:
Open the AMD Radeon settings panel.
Then go to Preferences. From there, select Radeon Additional Settings.
Next, go to the Power tab and click the PowerPlay option.
You should find an option called “Enable Vari-Bright” located on your right-hand side. Remove the mark from its checkbox and then save the changes you’ve made.
Intel users:
Open the Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel from your Desktop.
Then select the Basic mode and go to the Power tab.
From there, select “On battery” as Power Source and then you’ll get the Display Power Saving Technology option. It should be set to enabled by default.
Now remove the mark from the checkbox and then save the changes you’ve made.
Option 3 – Try resetting the Power Plan defaults
You might also want to use a command-line tool to resolve the problem. This command-line tool is known as PowerCfg. It is a command utility tool that will scan your computer for 60 seconds to know its power. This tool gives detailed results in the form of an HTML report that will help you in evaluating the real cause of the battery drain issues. You can also use this tool to reset the Power Plan defaults of your computer. To use it, follow the steps below.
Open the Command Prompt as administrator.
Then type in the following command and tap Enter to execute it:
powercfg –restoredefaultschemes
After the command has been executed, restart your computer.
Option 4 – Try updating your Graphics drivers
First, boot your computer into Safe Mode.
After that, tap the Win + R keys to launch Run.
Type in devmgmt.msc into the box and tap Enter or click OK to open the Device Manager.
After that, a list of device drivers will be displayed. From there, look for the Display Adapters and click on them.
After that, right-click on each entry under the Display Adapters and select the “Uninstall Device” option from the menu.
Now restart your computer.
After restarting your computer, go to the Settings app and Check for Updates in the Windows Update section.
Note: You also have the option to go directly to the website of your graphics card manufacturers like NVIDIA, Intel, or AMD and go to the section called Drivers then check if there’s a new available update – if there is, download and install it.
Option 5 – Try disabling adaptive brightness via Registry Editor
Since you will be dealing with Registry files in this post, you need to create a System Restore point first. Once you have that covered, proceed to the following steps:
Tap the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
Next, type “regedit” in the field and hit Enter to open the Registry Editor.
After that, navigate to this path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREIntelDisplayigfxcuiprofilesMediaBrighten Movie
Now double click on the “ProcAmpBrightness” and set its value to “0”.
Now go to this path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREIntelDisplayigfxcuiprofilesMediaDarken Movie
From there, double click on “ProcAmpBrightness” and set the value to “0”.
Then close the Registry Editor and restart your PC and then see if the problem’s fixed or not.
