Check Microphone Privacy Settings
In 2019, Microsoft introduced new privacy features to Windows that give you more granular control over which apps are accessing your microphone. The side effect of this is that certain apps may be blocked from using your microphone without you even knowing.
To find out if this is the issue, go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone.
Click Change and make sure the slider is set to On. This will broadly mean that the mic is now enabled on your PC.

Type in msc into the box and tap Enter or click OK to open the Device Manager.
After that, a list of device drivers will be displayed. Look for the device driver you and then select either “Update driver” or “Uninstall device”. And if you find any “Unknown device”, you need to update it as well.
Select the “Search automatically for updated driver software” option and then follow the instructions to complete the process.
If you have chosen to uninstall the driver, follow the screen options to complete the process and then restart your PC.
Note: You also have the option to go directly to the website of your device driver manufacturer and go to the section called Drivers then check if there’s a new available update – if there is, download and install it.

Add Desktop icon

If putting your computer in a Clean Boot state didn’t fix the problem, you might want to make some adjustments in the Windows Registry via Registry Editor.
Tap the Win + R keys to open the Run utility and type “regedit” in the field and then tap Enter to open the Registry Editor.
After that, navigate to this registry path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServiceslfsvcTriggerInfo
From there, select the Key (folder) named as “3” and right-click on it, and then delete it.
Once done, exit the Registry Editor and restart your computer.
Option 3 – Try to use the Windows Services Manager
Tap the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog box and type “services.msc” in the field and hit Enter to open the Services Manager.
Next, look for the “Geolocation Service” entry from the list of services.
Once you find it, right-click on it and select Properties. This will open a new mini window.
From there, make sure that it is “Running” and its Startup Type is set to “Automatic”.
After that, close the Services Manager and check if the problem is now resolved.
Option 4 – Try to use the Group Policy Editor
Tap the Win + R keys to launch Run and type “gpedit.msc” in the field and click OK to open the Group Policy Editor.
After that, navigate to this path: Administrative TemplatesWindows ComponentsLocation and Sensors
Next, double click on each one of the following settings and select the “Not configured” or “Disabled” option.

There are many times when you have to change the ownership of a folder or a file so that other users can use them as well or if you want to transfer files to them, or an old account has been removed and all the files need to be assigned to a new user. Windows 10 keeps all these files locked under the account by default which created a folder or file. So unless a user is an admin or if the file belongs to that particular user, other users won’t be able to access or edit the file. So if you want to change the ownership of a folder or a file, then you’ve come to the right place as this post will guide you on how exactly you can do that.

Step 1: First, you need to open File Explorer by tapping the Win + E keys. Once you’ve opened it, navigate to the folder or file that you want to change the ownership.

But you’re not done yet as you still have to check two additional options to help you completely transfer the ownership of the sub-folders as well as the files. Replace all child permission entries with inheritable permission entries from the object.

The next thing you can do to fix the problem is to restart the Windows Installer Service. To do this, follow these steps:
Tap the Win + R keys to launch the Run utility and type “services.msc” in the field and then hit Enter to open the Windows Services Manager.
Next, look for the Windows Installer service among the list of services shown.
Once you found it, right-click on it and open its Properties.
From there, click on the Stop button and then click on the Start button.
But if it isn’t running, then just click on the Start button.
Option 3 – Try to unregister and re-register the Windows Installer Module
Tap the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
Then type the “msiexec /unregister” command and hit Enter to unregister the Windows Installer Module.
Next, type the “msiexec /regserver” command and hit Enter to re-register the Windows Installer Module.
Now restart your computer and see if unregistering and re-registering the Windows Installer Module fixed the problem or not.
Option 4 – Try to re-register the vbscript.dll file
You may have to re-register the vbscript.dll file using the regsvr32.exe before you can successfully install the program and fix the error. The Regsvr32 tool is a command-line utility that can be used to register and un-register the OLE controls like DLL and ActiveX (OCX) control in the Windows operating system. Follow the steps below to use it.
Open Command Prompt as admin from the WinX menu.
Next, type regsvr32.exe vbscript.dll in the elevated Command Prompt and hit Enter to execute the command. This will re-register the affected DLL file using the Windows operating system tool, regsvr32.exe.

Methods 1:
The first step is to open the “Run” Window. You can do this in two ways. First, press the “Window” key and press the “R” key simultaneously. This will open the “Run” menu. Or you can start the “run” window by going to the Start menu and selecting Run.
In the Run window type “SLUI 4” and click enter.
A Phone Activation window will open up, after which you'll need to select a few options.
First chose the country in which you registered the product for the first time.
Choose your country and a phone number will be displayed specific to your choice. You will now need to call the number provided.
After you’ve dialed you will be prompted to write your “Installation ID”. Type your “Installation ID” on the phone.
After that step, you will be asked how many copies of Windows have been installed using this license. Choose “1”, should anything else be chosen but “1”, this will not work.
After the process is completed, you will be given a confirmation ID and should be able to proceed as normal with installation. You will have a workable product key again.
Install whatever copy of the Windows Operating System you are attempting to with the new product key.
Method 2:
If the first method did not work, the only other option is to call Microsoft and walk through the process with a technician. To do this, dial “1-800-936-5700”. Explain the error that you received and the steps in the update process during which it was displayed. The technician will be able to walk through the steps from getting a new product key to finishing the installation.
