So if you really must have some specific game on its launch day, go for it but know that by doing so you are getting the worst version of the game for its higher price.

Wishlist games and wait for the sale

All services today have a wishlist, very good and money-saving tactic is to wishlist interesting titles and wait for them to be on the sale. Services will usually have the option of sending you an email once your wishlist titles are on sale so you will be notified once they do. A good tactic as well is to wait for large sales like for example summer, winter, easter sales, or many other seasonal ones.

Get free games

Some online stores are offering free games from time to time and some are always offering some titles as gifts in order to get customers to their platform. EPIC has become famous for gifting some great titles over the past years completely for free and there are a lot of free-to-play games on each platform that you can play.

Get second-hand PC

Having a new computer is great but if your budget is tight you might consider getting your PC as a second hand instead of the new one. Hardcore games will switch components more frequently than your typical users and usually the components will be sold cheaper and be more affordable.

Play games on some older devices in general

Many games today are available on many platforms not only just on your typical PC. Same titles are available on your mobile phones, tablets, and even on your Android TV. Many titles will not even require the latest technology or monster of a computer in order to run them. You can also lower game settings and play many games on lower hardware if you do not mind not having top graphics settings.

Play over the cloud streaming

If you are very tight on budget but want to enjoy new games in their full glory there is always the option to play games via a cloud streaming service, it is not exactly a mega cheap option since it has a monthly fee but it is cheaper than some high-end gaming computer. If you combine this with the game pass you can enjoy the latest games with high-quality settings and pay it on a monthly basis.

Typical use of file explorer will probably not need any kind of elevated privileges, but from time to time you might encounter some tasks that will require administrator rights in order to perform them. If this is the case you will need to run file explorer with these rights but inside Windows 11 that is somewhat hidden and not 1 click away. How this is the case we have decided to put a little tutorial on how to accomplish this very task and run file explorer with administrator privileges.

Open File Explorer via EXE file

1. Open File Explorer typically
2. Navigate to This PC > Windows (C:) > Windows
3. Locate file explorer application
4. Right-click on it and select Run as Administrator
5. Run File Explorer

A new instance of file explorer will pop with elevated administrator privileges.

Run it as an administrator using the Task Manager

1. Open the Task Manager ( CTRL + SHIFT + ESC )
2. Click on More details (at the bottom)
3. After the task manager expands click on the File tab
4. Click on Run New Task
5. Type in explorer.exe and check the box next to it that says Create this task with administrative privileges
6. Click on OK

File Explorer will now run as administrator.

If when hovering over the upgrade icon on the taskbar you get:

and you are unable to perform updates then this guide is for you. There are several things you can do to fix this issue presented here, it is advisable to follow them in a way how they are presented for best performance and system safety.

1. Run setupdiag

   Download and run Setupdiag from the official MICROSOFT website. SetupDiag is a standalone diagnostic tool that can be used to obtain details about why a Windows 10 upgrade was unsuccessful. It works by examining Windows Setup log files to determine the root cause of a failure to update or upgrade the computer. Once the scan is completed, check the generated log files. The SetupDiagResults.log will be generated and saved in the same folder where you downloaded Setupdiag. Open SetupDiagResults.log using Notepad. You may need to take a look at these folders:
   • \Windows\Panther
   • \$Windows.~bt\sources\panther
   • \$Windows.~bt\Sources\Rollback
   • \Windows\Panther\NewOS
   If there are any issues or conditions that are blocking the upgrade, they will be listed here.

2. Edit TargetReleaseVersionInfo Registry key

   Press ⊞ WINDOWS + R to open the run dialog In run dialog type Regedit and press ENTER Locate: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate Locate two DWORD files, if they do not exist, create them as: TargetReleaseVersion TargetReleaseVersionInfo Set the value of TargetReleaseVersion to 1 If you are stuck on Windows 10 1909 and want to upgrade to Windows 10 20H2 now, you need to set the value for TargetReleaseVersionInfo to 20H2 Reboot the computer

3. Use Windows 10 update assistant

   Visit Microsoft.com and hit the ‘Update now’ button visible on the page Download tool and run it Click on Update now to start the upgrade process
