Skinning of applications is not new to PC users, but did you knew you could skin Steam? With skin, you can customize the UI and style of the client to what you want making it more personal and to your liking. First thing is to find the skin that you would like to install. There are a lot of sites where you could find custom made Steam skins but we would recommend steamskins.org The site itself is organized in tabs with different sections, once you click on the tab you will get a list of skins available for chosen section. If you click on the skin you will be taken to skin page detail where you can find what skin is aiming for, its legibility, a record of how the skin has been altered over time, or some mix of these aspects. Note that some skins might have issues like some buttons might be missing from big picture mode but so far none of the skins has any kind of client breaking feature, only functionality one.

Downloading skin

Once you have chosen desired skin and while on the skin details page, scroll to the middle of the page just above the Related Skins sections with two options: Direct Download and External Download. Now usually I would recommend Direct download but in this case, I would advise going with External Download for the simple reason that the External link will send you to the developer's website where there is a higher chance to get the latest updated skin.

Installing it in Steam

Once the skin is downloaded you will first need to create a skin folder inside your Steam installation location. Navigate to your Steam installation folder (default: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam) and create a new folder inside it. Give new folder name Skins and confirm. Extract the skin zip file in the newly made folder. Once the file is extracted you can delete the ZIP file if you wish. Go to your Steam client and go to Steam>Settings. In settings select Interface on the left bar and on the right part then click the Select the skin you wish Steam to use the drop-down menu and select the skin that you wish to use. Confirm and restart your Steam client

Reverting to old skin

If you found skin unappealing or, unfortunately, has some functions missing you can always choose another skin or revert back to default Steam skin. Default Steam skin is named in the drop-down menu as < default skin >.

Option 2 – Try to update or rollback the Graphics driver

You can try to update your Graphics card driver using the Device Manager in your computer to resolve the blank dialog boxes problem or you can also go directly to the website of your graphics card manufacturers like NVIDIA, Intel, or AMD and go to the section called Drivers then check if there’s a new available update – if there is, download and install it. To update your Graphics driver via Device Manager, refer to these steps:

• First, boot your computer into Safe Mode.
• After that, tap the Win + R keys to launch Run.
• Type in devmgmt.msc into the box and tap Enter or click OK to open the Device Manager.
• After that, a list of device drivers will be displayed. From there, look for the Display Adapters and click on them.
• After that, right-click on each entry under the Display Adapters and select the “Uninstall Device” option from the menu.
• Now restart your computer.
• After restarting your computer, go to the Settings app and Check for Updates in the Windows Update section.

Note: If updating the Graphics driver didn’t fix the problem, you can also try to roll back to its previous version and see if that helps.

Option 3 – Try to disable the Hardware Acceleration

For better performance, Google Chrome uses the Hardware Acceleration by default. Unfortunately, there are just some cases when your hardware, GPU to be specific, might not be able to cope with the requirements, resulting in the black screen issue. And if this is your case, you should try to disable the hardware acceleration from your Google Chrome browser settings panel. To do so, follow the steps below.

• Open the Google Chrome settings page.
• Click on the Advanced button to get more options.
• Look for the option called “Use hardware acceleration when available” and then disable it by toggling the button to the left.
• After that, check if the screen flickering issue in Chrome is fixed.

Option 4 – Try to disable “Smooth Scrolling” in Chrome

Disabling “Smooth Scrolling” in Chrome might also help you fix the issue. To do so, follow these steps:

• Open Chrome and type “chrome://flags” and hit Enter.
• Next, look for a flag named “Smooth Scrolling”. You can scroll down until you find it or search it in the Search Flag bar. Note that Smooth Scrolling is enabled by default in the newer versions of Chrome.
• After that, select the drop-down menu and select Disabled.
• Then click on the “Relaunch Now” button.

In previous versions of Windows changing the system, the font was a pretty straightforward process, but it seems Microsoft did not want this feature to keep for whatever reason and there is no option as of the time of the writing of this article to do it in standard options in Windows 10. But do not worry, you are still able to customize your Windows and choose which font would you like to see inside it in all of its dialogs. You can choose whichever font you desire, the only prerequisite is it to be installed on your system. This guide will require you to change values in the registry of Windows itself so please follow step-by-step instructions and always make a backup of the registry before changing it in order to prevent some permanent Windows issues. All of that being said, let's start.

Setting new font

First thing is to open notepad, in the notepad paste the next block of code:

Where in "Segoe UI"="NEW_FONT" instead of NEW_FONT you need to write the exact name of the font that you wish to use as a system font. Once you have replaced the default system font with your desired one, go to File and save as, from file type drop-down menu, choose all files and save this file as .REG type giving it whatever name you wish. When the file is saved, close notepad, right-click on the saved file and choose the merge option. Confirm with YES and click on OK. Reboot your system and your Windows will now use the font of your choice as its default system font.

Restoring default font

If you wish to return the old default system font as it was, follow the same steps but in your notepad paste this code:

A new update to popular Microsoft PowerToys has brought a few new features that are aimed at speeding up the workflow. The first new feature that was slid in is Always on top utility. With this cool utility, you can keep the window as the name suggests, always on top of other windows. To enable this cool feature all you have to do is press the key combination of ⊞ WINDOWS + CTRL + T and an active window will be now always on top of all other windows. To reverse and unlock this window from being always on top just press key combination again. A second new feature is a really great one and my favorite thing to happen in power toys. Often we are making the search in our browsers to find stuff, things, maybe some explanations, information, etc. The newest update in power toys brings this to a whole new dimension. While you are on PC you just simply need to type ?? followed by questions like: ?? When doctor strange 2 is coming out and that will launch your default browser with your chosen search engine and provide you with the answer. Third and final thing is G-code support in the file explorer preview pane and thumbnails, meaning that if you work with CNC equipment you can now have a thumbnail preview of the code itself inside File Explorer. As you know, Windows 10 comes with a pre-packed feature that allows you to rotate the screen at different angles, and to facilitate this feature, there are keyboard shortcuts you can use as well. However, from time to time, no matter how useful this feature is, users still experience a handful of issues. One of which is that they suddenly find their screen rotated or Upside Down even when they didn’t do a thing or adjust the setting. You may have pressed the shortcut on the keyboard by accident or some other program changed the setting on your computer without your permission – whichever the case is, this post will show you what you can do to fix the upside-down screen on your Windows 10 PC using the options laid out below.

Option 1 – Try using hotkeys

As mentioned earlier, Windows have hotkeys in the UI that changes the orientation of the display. So the first thing you need to do is to make sure that these hotkeys are enabled and if they are, you can use the keyboard shortcut to adjust the orientation of your screen.

• Right-click on an empty part of your Desktop and then select the Graphic options.
• Next, select “Hot Keys” > “Enable”. After verifying that the hotkeys are enabled, you can tap the Ctrl + Alt + Up arrow keys to change your computer screen’s orientation.
• Alternatively, you can also tap the Ctrl + Alt + Right or Left or Down arrow keys to change the direction the other way.

Option 2 – Try using the Graphics Properties

You will probably see the “Graphics Properties” option if you use the Intel HD Graphics every time you click on your Desktop. Note that this option has all the graphics driver properties and helps you in changing the configurations as well as control several options like refresh rate, resolution, color-depth and many more. You have to navigate to these options to see if the orientation is changed in these properties. To do so, follow the steps below.

• Right-click on any empty space on your Desktop and then select Graphics Properties or Intel Graphics Settings.
• After that, select Display from the list of sub-options that appears.
• From there, you will see the rotation of the screen under the “Display settings” option where you have to make sure that the slider is set to “0”.
• Click the Apply button to save the changes made and then click on Exit. The orientation of your screen should automatically change.

Option 3 – Try using the Windows Display Settings

Since the Windows Settings have a section where you can manage the display settings of your computer, you can use them to help control the resolution of your PC’s display without any trouble. There is a possibility that the settings are changed there so that’s probably why your screen is turned upside down all of a sudden.

• Tap the Win + S keys to open search and then type in “settings” in the field and then hit Enter to open Settings.

• Now change the rotation to 0 Degrees. Afterward, the display should revert back to its original form automatically.

Option 4 – Check your monitor’s physical controls

There are monitors that have buttons in them that allows users to shift the rotation of the screen to 90 degrees. It could be that your monitor has these buttons without you knowing and you suddenly pressed them by mistake which caused your screen to rotate. Thus, you have to check your monitor for any physical buttons on the side and if you see a menu, navigate to its options and check if there are screen rotation options. To make it easier for you, you can simply search your monitor’s model online and see if these buttons exist. Option 5 – Update your Graphics drivers

• Tap the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog box and then type in devmgmt.msc and tap Enter or click OK to open the Device Manager.
• Expand the section for the outdated device drivers.
• And then select the outdated driver(s) and right-click on it/them.
• From the drop-down menu, select the Update Driver option if you wish to update the driver or select the Uninstall device if you want to uninstall the driver and then follow the on-screen instructions to install the latest version of the driver.
• Restart your PC after the installation to allow the system to reinstall the driver.

There are instances when there are multiple accounts which is the result when there are a lot of users who use the computer. Some may use it more often, while others may seldom use it. Having multiple accounts can be quite confusing and inconvenient especially if it takes a lot of space. • After that, expand the 3D Settings on the left-hand side tree-structured list and then click on Manage 3D Settings.
• Next, select your preferred GPU on the right-side panel and then set it to the High-Performance NVIDIA Card from the drop-down menu.
• As an alternative, you can also go to the Program Settings tab,
• From there, select the program that you are trying to run from the drop-down menu and click on Add.
• Now set the graphics processor to a High-performing processor and then restart your computer to apply the changes made.

AMD Graphics card:

If your computer uses a graphics card made by AMD and has the drivers are properly installed and updated, then follow the steps below.

• Right-click on any empty space on your desktop.
• Click on AMD Control or Configure Switchable Graphics.
• Next, click on Browse and select the program where you encounter the error.
• Finally, click on High Performance for the selected program and then restart your computer to successfully apply the changes made.

Intel HD graphics:

If your computer uses the Intel HD graphics and then its drivers are properly installed and updated, then follow these steps:

• Right-click on any empty space on your desktop and then click on the Intel Graphics Settings.
• Next, click on the Power menu.
• After that, select a Graphics Power Plan for both the “On battery” and “Plugged in” options to High-Performance Power Plan.
