Windows 11 is coming soon, from its typical view and color scheme, Windows 11 will natively support dark mode.
The dark mode is very popular in many applications today, some large companies like Adobe, Autodesk, and many more have already adopted a dark color scheme for their software so it is logical for others to follow and Microsoft is aboard for it.
The dark mode itself has its benefits, for people who work on computer for longer period of time dark mode inside applications will throw less white and blue light on their eyes making workhours easier and pleasant on them.
As a person who does indeed spend a lot of time in front of the screen, I would advise you to switch to dark mode regardless of the time that you spend with a computer, your eyes will be grateful.
Switching to Dark mode in Windows 11
- Open Windows 11 Settings by pressing ⊞ WINDOWS + I
- Click on Personalization on the left sidebar
- On the right side click on Color
- In color options click on the drop-down menu right next to Choose your color
- Select Dark
Your choice will be applied right away and you can safely close settings.

As you know, all computer mouse devices are designed ergonomically for users who are right-handed. Although that’s mostly the case, there are also other mouse devices that are designed specifically for left-handed users or the ones that can be used by either the right or left hand. But before you look for these kinds of mouse devices, there is actually an option you can try so that your mouse device can work with either the left or right hand. All you have to do is configure your mouse device. Aside from setting the device to work on either hand, you can also switch mouse buttons, from left to right, using only a couple of simple steps.
As mentioned earlier, most mouse devices are created for right-handed users. Meaning to say, these mouse devices are configured to be right-handed with their primary button on the left and the second one on the right. The primary button is used for certain functions such as selecting and dragging. Now you can configure your mouse to be left-handed by swapping its predefined functionality. How? Refer to each one of the given instructions below.
Option 1 – via Control Panel
- First, go to the Start Menu and search for “control panel” in the Start search.
- Once you see it from the search results, click on it to open it and then go to the Hardware and Sound section.
- From there, click on Mouse under the Device and Printers section. This will open the window for Mouse Properties.
- Now you have to check the Switch primary and secondary buttons box.
- Then click on OK to save the changes made. After that, your primary select button on your mouse device is your right button while the secondary button, also known as right-click, is now the left button.
Option 2 – via Windows 10 Settings
This is the second option you can check out to change the configuration of your mouse from being right-handed to being left-handed.
- First, right-click on the Windows icon and select Search.
- Next, type “mouse” and from the search results that appear, click on Mouse Settings.
- After that, select “Right” from the “Select your primary button” drop-down menu. This should set the mouse device from being right-handed to being left-handed.

As you know, a Virtual Private Network or VPN is used to access a particular network from another network which is why it is also referred to as a mini-internet. Moreover, you can use it in two ways. One, you can use it to get you access to a closed server which means that you would not be getting access to the internet. Second, you can also use it to access a set of resources while at the same time get access to the internet. However, what if you want to access your resources at home even when you’re away? And what if you want to use the private server at home or at your office even when you’re away? This is where the callout for a VPN server for yourself comes in. And so in this post, you will be guided in how you can create a public VPN server on your Windows 10 computer. Follow each one of the given steps below to get started.
Step 1: Find your IP address.
This step is rather simple since all you have to do is open Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center. From there, click on “Local Area Connection” and then click on Details where you’ll see your IP address next to “Autoconfiguration IPv4 Address”.
Step 2: Next, set up port forwarding on your router.
In this step, you will have to configure port forwarding in your router so that you would be able to connect to the VPN server through a public network like the internet.
- Log in to the Admin Panel of your router. You have to do this since your router will be the gateway for your access to the network.
- After you’re logged in, look for the “Port Forwarding” or “Applications and Gaming” or “NAT/QoS” menu tab and other similar names.
- Now you need to set the port number to 1723 for connections based on Point to Point Tunneling Protocol.
- Then save the configuration and reboot your router.
Step 3: Set up a VPN server on Windows 10.
- In the Cortana search box, type “ncpa.cpl” and click on the related entry from the search results.
- After that, tap the Alt + F keys to bring down the File Menu and then select New Incoming Connection which will open a mini window where you can allow the user accounts on the particular machine to access the VPN connection.
- On the other hand, you can also click the “Add someone” button so that you can add someone else to the whitelist that can access the connection.
- Now click on Next and you’ll see an option to select how people will connect to the network. Check the checkbox for the “Through the Internet” option.
- After that, you will see a page where you have to configure the network. Just select IPv4 and then click on Properties.
- From there, you will be asked to continue some additional settings like letting users access your Local Area Network or how IP addresses will be allocated to these users. Click on OK to save the changes you’ve made.
- Click on Allow Access after you configure the network. And if you want to, you have the option to print this information for future reference or for the client machine.
- Now click on Close to exit the configuration process.
Step 4: Allow the VPN Connections through the firewall
In this step, you will have to allow the VPN connections through the firewall.
- In the Cortana search box, type “Allow an app through Windows Firewall” and click on the related search result to open the intended Windows Firewall settings.
- Next, click on Change Settings.
- Then scroll down to check if Routing and Remote Access is Enabled for both the Public and Private networks and click on OK.
Step 5: Set up a VPN connection on Windows 10
Now all that’s left for you to do is to set up a VPN connection on Windows 10.
- Go to Settings > Network and Internet.
- From the list of options given, click on VPN located on the left pane to see the related settings.
- After that, click on the “+” icon to add a VPN connection.
- Next, select Windows Default under VPN Provider and under the Connection Name, input your VPN’s name, and then enter the IP address you got from the VPN service provider under the Server name or address section.
- Now select PPTP under VPN type since it is the most commonly used protocol for VPNs.

Often when we connect to the internet were browsing indexed pages through some well-known search engine, usually Google. But beneath the so-called normal internet lurks deep and dark web. You might have heard of the deep web and dark web if you have some geeky friends and we are here to explain what exactly is the deep and dark web.
The first thing to know is that the deep and dark web is not the same thing and they coexist separately from one another, you could say that beneath the deep web lies the dark web, yet another layer of the internet.
So let us explore first the deep web. What is exactly a deep web?
Deep web, hidden web, or invisible web
as sometimes referenced are part of worldwide web not indexed by search engines, meaning that engines do not basically see and index content of deep web sites.
The content of the deep web is hidden behind HTTP forms and includes many very common uses such as webmail, online banking, private or otherwise restricted access social-media pages and profiles, some web forums that require registration for viewing content, and services that users must pay for, and which are protected by paywalls, such as video on demand and some online magazines and newspapers.
The content of the deep web can be located and accessed by a direct URL or IP address but may require a password or other security access to get past public website pages.
While it is not always possible to directly discover a specific web server's content so that it may be indexed, a site potentially can be accessed indirectly (due to computer vulnerabilities).
To discover content on the web, search engines use web crawlers that follow hyperlinks through known protocol virtual port numbers. This technique is ideal for discovering content on the surface web but is often ineffective at finding deep web content. For example, these crawlers do not attempt to find dynamic pages that are the result of database queries due to the indeterminate number of queries that are possible. It has been noted that this can be (partially) overcome by providing links to query results, but this could unintentionally inflate the popularity of a member of the deep web.
Dark WEB
The dark web is the World Wide Web content that exists on darknets: overlay networks that use the Internet but require specific software, configurations, or authorization to access. Through the dark web, private computer networks can communicate and conduct business anonymously without divulging identifying information, such as a user's location. The dark web forms a small part of the deep web, the part of the Web not indexed by web search engines, although sometimes the term deep web is mistakenly used to refer specifically to the dark web.
The darknets which constitute the dark web include small, friend-to-friend peer-to-peer networks, as well as large, popular networks such as Tor, Freenet, I2P, and Riffle operated by public organizations and individuals. Users of the dark web refer to the regular web as Clearnet due to its unencrypted nature. The Tor dark web or Onionland uses the traffic anonymization technique of onion routing under the network's top-level domain suffix .onion.
Dark & Deep WEB difference
The dark web has often been conflated with the deep web, the parts of the web not indexed (searchable) by search engines. The dark web forms a small part of the deep web but requires custom software in order to access its content. This confusion dates back to at least 2009. Since then, especially in reporting on Silk Road, the two terms have often been conflated, despite recommendations that they should be distinguished.
Darknet websites are accessible only through networks such as Tor ("The Onion Routing" project) and I2P ("Invisible Internet Project"). Tor browser and Tor-accessible sites are widely used among darknet users and can be identified by the domain ".onion". While Tor focuses on providing anonymous access to the Internet, I2P specializes in allowing anonymous hosting of websites. Identities and locations of darknet users stay anonymous and cannot be tracked due to the layered encryption system. The darknet encryption technology routes users' data through a large number of intermediate servers, which protects the users' identity and guarantees anonymity. The transmitted information can be decrypted only by a subsequent node in the scheme, which leads to the exit node. The complicated system makes it almost impossible to reproduce the node path and decrypt the information layer by layer. Due to the high level of encryption, websites are not able to track the geolocation and IP of their users, and users are not able to get this information about the host. Thus, communication between darknet users is highly encrypted allowing users to talk, blog, and share files confidentially.
Darknet
The darknet is also used for illegal activity such as illegal trade, forums, and media exchange for pedophiles and terrorists. At the same time, traditional websites have created alternative accessibility for the Tor browser in an effort to connect with their users. ProPublica, for example, launched a new version of its website available exclusively to Tor users.

What is DISM Error 1726? Every time you encounter some issues in your Windows 10 computer, especially when it comes to corrupted system files, you can always use the SFC scan and if the SFC can isn’t able to resolve the issue, there is also the DISM tool you can use which usually resolve the vast majority of system file corruption sufficiently. However, there are times when even the DISM commands experience issues as well. Such is the case with the 1726 error: “The remote procedure call failed”.
Some users reported that this DISM problem happens right before the process is supposed to end. According to experts, this error in DISM occurs due to any of the following reasons:
- A third-party program might have interrupted the DISM operation and is the one that triggered the 1726 error: “The remote procedure call failed”.
- The error could also pop up when there is a pending corruption repair. This usually happens when you tried to run a DISM command previously that was terminated manually or was halted because of some malfunction.
- Lastly, the error could also occur because the process that’s responsible for the procedure is disabled or was prevented from running.
Whichever the case is, here are some suggestions that might help you in resolving the 1726 error: “The remote procedure call failed”.
Option 1 – Try updating your PC to the latest Windows build available
Since the problem is specific to certain builds in Windows 10, you need to make sure that your computer is updated before you try other troubleshooting steps. Thus, follow the steps below to update your Windows 10 PC.
- Tap the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
- Then type “ms-settings:windowsupdate” in the field and hit Enter to open the Windows Update screen.
- After that, click on Check for Updates and then follow the next on-screen instructions to apply the latest Windows update.
- Once the update has been installed, restart your PC and run the DISM command again and see if the problem is fixed.
Option 2 – Try to change the Startup Type of the Remote Procedure Call service
As stated early on, the error might also be caused by a disabled Remote Procedure Call service or RPC or that it might be prevented from running for some reason.
In case you don’t know, RPC is the service control manager for both COM and DCOM servers and it’s responsible for performing object variation requests, exporting resolution as well as distributing collection for the servers. And so if the server is disabled, all programs that are using COM and DCOM including the DISM commands, will not function correctly. Thus, you need to make sure that the RPC service is scheduled to enable itself on every system boot. To do so, here’s what you have to do:
- Tap the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
- Type “services.msc” in the field and hit Enter to open Services.
- From there, scroll down until you see the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service and then right-click on it and select Properties.
- Then go to the General tab and change the drop-down menu next to Startup type to Automatic.
- After that, click the Apply button and then OK to apply the changes made.
- Restart your PC and run the DISM command once again at the next startup.
Option 3 – Try to modify the RpcSs registry key value
If the option didn’t work, you can also try enabling the RPC service using the Registry Editor. Before you proceed, make sure to create a System Restore point first and then follow the steps below afterward.
- Tap the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
- Type “Regedit” in the field and hit Enter or click OK to open the Registry Editor. And if a User Account Control prompt appears, just click on Yes.
- After that, navigate to this registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM CurrentControlSet Services RpcSs
- After selecting the aforementioned registry key, go to the right pane and double-click on the Start value.
- Next, change the Value data of start to 2 and click OK to save the changes made.
- Exit the Registry Editor and restart your PC and check if the 1726 error in DISM has already been resolved or not.
Option 4 – Try to disable the Windows Search service temporarily
Some users also recommended disabling the Windows Search service for the meantime as it could be the one that’s interrupting the DISM process.
- Tap the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
- In the field, type “services.msc” to open the Services window again and hit Enter to open it.
- Next, scroll down over the services list and double-click on the Windows Update service.
- Afterward, go to Windows Search properties and click the General tab and then click the Stop button to stop the service from running temporarily.
- Now try running the DISM commands again and see if the problem’s fixed or not.
- Restart the Windows Search service and then restart your PC as well.
