If your Windows 10 computer slows down, the first thing you can do is to check the status of the resource usage in the Task Manager. In such cases, it shoots up to even 1000% which causes the system to either hang or freeze since some programs are using a major chunk of system resources. And this is the case with msrtn32.exe.
Msrtn32.exe is a malicious file that may try to steal your digital currency. It can get installed on your computer when you install a browser plugin or extension that can modify the default settings of browsers, the content of web pages, search results, as well as display tons of intrusive ads. So if you see msrtn32.exe under the Processes tab of the Task Manager
If you see msrtn32.exe under the Processes tab of your Task Manager, refer to the suggestions given below to get rid of it and restore your computer’s normal function.

Option 1 – Delete the folder where msrtn32.exe is located

Option 2 – Try scanning your computer using Windows Defender
Since you are dealing with a malicious file, if you weren’t able to delete the folder where the file is located, you can scan your computer using the built-in Windows Defender program and then eliminate the malicious file. Follow the steps below to do so:
Tap the Win + I keys to open Update & Security.
Then click on the Windows Security option and open Windows Defender Security Center.
Next, click on Virus & threat protection > Run a new advanced scan.
Now make sure that Full Scan is selected from the menu and then click the Scan Now button to get started.
What is DISM Error 1726? Every time you encounter some issues in your Windows 10 computer, especially when it comes to corrupted system files, you can always use the SFC scan and if the SFC can isn’t able to resolve the issue, there is also the DISM tool you can use which usually resolve the vast majority of system file corruption sufficiently. However, there are times when even the DISM commands experience issues as well. Such is the case with the 1726 error: “The remote procedure call failed”.
Some users reported that this DISM problem happens right before the process is supposed to end. According to experts, this error in DISM occurs due to any of the following reasons:
A third-party program might have interrupted the DISM operation and is the one that triggered the 1726 error: “The remote procedure call failed”.
The error could also pop up when there is a pending corruption repair. This usually happens when you tried to run a DISM command previously that was terminated manually or was halted because of some malfunction.
Lastly, the error could also occur because the process that’s responsible for the procedure is disabled or was prevented from running.
Whichever the case is, here are some suggestions that might help you in resolving the 1726 error: “The remote procedure call failed”.
Option 1 – Try updating your PC to the latest Windows build available
Since the problem is specific to certain builds in Windows 10, you need to make sure that your computer is updated before you try other troubleshooting steps. Thus, follow the steps below to update your Windows 10 PC.
Tap the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
Then type “ms-settings:windowsupdate” in the field and hit Enter to open the Windows Update screen.
After that, click on Check for Updates and then follow the next on-screen instructions to apply the latest Windows update.
Once the update has been installed, restart your PC and run the DISM command again and see if the problem is fixed.
Option 2 – Try to change the Startup Type of the Remote Procedure Call service
As stated early on, the error might also be caused by a disabled Remote Procedure Call service or RPC or that it might be prevented from running for some reason.
In case you don’t know, RPC is the service control manager for both COM and DCOM servers and it’s responsible for performing object variation requests, exporting resolution as well as distributing collection for the servers. And so if the server is disabled, all programs that are using COM and DCOM including the DISM commands, will not function correctly. Thus, you need to make sure that the RPC service is scheduled to enable itself on every system boot. To do so, here’s what you have to do:
Tap the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
Type “services.msc” in the field and hit Enter to open Services.
From there, scroll down until you see the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service and then right-click on it and select Properties.
Then go to the General tab and change the drop-down menu next to Startup type to Automatic.
After that, click the Apply button and then OK to apply the changes made.
Restart your PC and run the DISM command once again at the next startup.
Option 3 – Try to modify the RpcSs registry key value
If the option didn’t work, you can also try enabling the RPC service using the Registry Editor. Before you proceed, make sure to create a System Restore point first and then follow the steps below afterward.
Tap the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
Type “Regedit” in the field and hit Enter or click OK to open the Registry Editor. And if a User Account Control prompt appears, just click on Yes.
After that, navigate to this registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM CurrentControlSet Services RpcSs
After selecting the aforementioned registry key, go to the right pane and double-click on the Start value.
Next, change the Value data of start to 2 and click OK to save the changes made.
Exit the Registry Editor and restart your PC and check if the 1726 error in DISM has already been resolved or not.
Option 4 – Try to disable the Windows Search service temporarily
Some users also recommended disabling the Windows Search service for the meantime as it could be the one that’s interrupting the DISM process.
Tap the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
In the field, type “services.msc” to open the Services window again and hit Enter to open it.
Next, scroll down over the services list and double-click on the Windows Update service.
Afterward, go to Windows Search properties and click the General tab and then click the Stop button to stop the service from running temporarily.
Now try running the DISM commands again and see if the problem’s fixed or not.
Restart the Windows Search service and then restart your PC as well.

Option 1 – Try to set the headphone as the default device manually
There are times when you plug a headphone, it does not toggle the default audio device. Thus, to fix this issue, you have to set the default audio device to the headphones manually. To do that, follow these steps:
First, right-click on the volume icon located on the system tray.
Next, select the Open sound settings option to open the Sound section in the Windows 10 Settings app.
After that, go to the Output section and select Headphones for the “Choose your output device” option. This should fix the problem for you.
Option 2 – Try to update, rollback or reinstall the Audio driver
If the glitch in your audio has something to do with software, chances are it might be related to the audio driver – it could be that the newest version of your Windows 10 does not work well with the old version of the driver. This is why you have to update your audio driver to the newest available version.
Tap the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog box and then type in MSC and tap Enter or click OK to open the Device Manager.
Expand the section for the outdated device drivers.
And then select the outdated driver(s) and right-click on it/them.
From the drop-down menu, select the Update Driver option and follow the on-screen instructions to install the latest version of the driver.
Then also click on the option, “Search automatically for updated driver software.
Restart your PC after the installation.
Note: If updating the Audio driver didn’t work, you can go to the website of your PC manufacturer and look for the support section where you can download the drivers for your computer. You just need to take note of your PC’s correct model and model number so you can find the appropriate driver.
Option 3 – Try checking the status of the audio-related Windows Services
The Windows Services manages audio for all Windows-based programs and if this service is stopped, audio devices, as well as effects, will also be affected and if this service is disabled, any services that depend on it explicitly will fail to start. So you need to check the status of this service. How? Follow the steps below.
Tap the Win + R to open the Run dialog box.
Then type in “MSC” in the field and tap enter to open the Windows Service Manager.
Next, navigate down to the Windows Audio Service and double-click on it to open Properties.
After that, set the Startup Type to Automatic and then click on the Start button and if it has already started, stop it and then start it again.
Note: You should also make sure that the following Dependency Services are started and have Automatic Startup type:
Remote Procedure Call
Windows Audio Endpoint Builder
You should also start the Multimedia Class Scheduler and set it on Automatic if you have it in your system. The Multimedia Class Scheduler Service or MMCSS is a service in Windows that allows multimedia applications to get prioritized access to CPU for time-sensitive processing like the multimedia applications as well as prioritized disc access to make sure that the process does not lack data to process.
Option 4 – Try running the Playing Audio Troubleshooter
Since the Windows 10 operating system has the Playing Audio Troubleshooter, you can use this troubleshooter to try and fix the problem with the headphones. You can access this tool in the Control Panel or in the Taskbar Search and even on the Troubleshooters page of Windows 10.

If you suddenly encounter a PNP_DETECTED_FATAL_ERROR Blue Screen error, then this post can help you out. The PNP_DETECTED_FATAL_ERROR BSOD usually occurs when any new hardware that is mostly the Plug and Play type is attached. In such cases, when the device is plugged, and the driver for that device crashes or isn’t found or is not compatible, you will most likely encounter this particular BSOD error.
There are several error codes that come under this category, some of them are 0x000000CA (0x01681690, 0xEA96A7BE, 0x938A81AD, 0xF8362881. This BSOD error can also occur at any time. However, the only constant thing here is when you plug a PNP device like earphones, microphones, USB drives, and many more.
The PNP_DETECTED_FATAL_ERROR bug check has a value of 0x000000CA which indicates that the Plug and Play Manager encountered some severe error which is most likely have something to do with a problematic Plug and Play driver. To fix this error, here are some possible solutions that could help.
Option 1 – Run the Blue Screen Troubleshooter
The Blue Screen troubleshooter is a built-in tool in Windows 10 that helps users in fixing BSOD errors like PNP_DETECTED_FATAL_ERROR Blue Screen error. It can be found on the Settings Troubleshooters page. To use it, refer to these steps:
Tap the Win + I keys to open the Settings panel.
Then go to Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
From there, look for the option called “Blue Screen” on your right-hand side and then click the “Run the troubleshooter” button to run the Blue Screen Troubleshooter and then follow the next on-screen options. Note that you might have to boot your PC into Safe Mode.
Option 2 – Try disabling or removing newly installed hardware
In this option, you will have to disable or remove the hardware you’ve just installed recently since external devices could be the one that’s causing the Blue Screen of Death error to appear. To do that, just disconnect any external device that’s connected to your computer physically and then check if it fixes the PNP_DETECTED_FATAL_ERROR Blue Screen error.
Disabling the BIOS Memory options such as Caching and Shadowing can help you in fixing the PNP_DETECTED_FATAL_ERROR Blue Screen error. All you have to do is enter the BIOS first and then use the Arrow and Enter keys to select your choices. And if you can’t seem to find it, look for specific instructions from your OEM or you could also look out for instructions from the manufacturer of your motherboard.
Option 4 – Try to run the CHKDSK utility
Running the CHKDSK utility might also help you resolve the PNP_DETECTED_FATAL_ERROR Blue Screen error. If your hard drive has issues with integrity, the update will really fail as the system will think that it’s not healthy and that’s where the CHKDSK utility comes in. The CHKDSK utility repairs hard drive errors that might be causing the problem.
Open Command Prompt with admin privileges.
After opening Command Prompt, execute the following command and hit Enter:
chkdsk /f /r
Wait for the process to be completed and then restart your computer.
Option 5 – Try to uninstall programs you’ve installed recently
Chances are, some programs that you just installed might be the one that’s causing the BSOD error. Thus, you need to uninstall the program to resolve the problem.
In the search box, type in “control” and then click on Control Panel (desktop app) among the search results.
After that, select Programs and Features from the list which will give you a list of all the programs installed on your computer.
From there, look for the concerned program and select it and then uninstall it.
Option 6 – Update the Device drivers
Tap the Win + R keys to launch Run.
Type in devmgmt.msc into the box and tap Enter or click OK to open the Device Manager.
After that, a list of device drivers will be displayed. Look for the device driver you and then select either “Update driver” or “Uninstall device”. And if you find any “Unknown device”, you need to update it as well.
Select the “Search automatically for updated driver software” option and then follow the instructions to complete the process.
If you have chosen to uninstall the driver, follow the screen options to complete the process and then restart your PC.
Connect the device and Scan for hardware changes – you can see this option under Device Manager > Action.
Option 7 – Perform a System Restore
Performing System Restore might help you in fixing the PNP_DETECTED_FATAL_ERROR Blue Screen error. You can do this option either by booting into Safe Mode or in System Restore. If you are already in the Advanced Startup Options, just directly select System Restore and proceed with the next steps. And if you have just booted your PC into Safe Mode, refer to the steps below.
Tap the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
After that, type in “sysdm.cpl” in the field and tap Enter.
Next, go to the System Protection tab then click the System Restore button. This will open a new window where you have to select your preferred System Restore point.
After that, follow the on-screen instructions to finish the process and then restart your computer and check if the problem is fixed or not.

Select Offline maps.
Click the + button next to "Download maps".
Select the continent where your desired country is located.
Select the region you want to download. Depending on the area, you can download a whole country or you'll have to drill down to a smaller region (for example, with Canada and the USA).
Repeat for any additional regions you want to have as offline maps. You can download more maps while other maps are currently downloading.
The Windows Subsystem for Linus, also known as WSL, is a useful and excellent tool for developers. However, it isn’t without flaws as users can still encounter some errors when using it. One of these errors is the error code WslRegisterDistribution, 0x8007019e,0x8000000d. Although it seems like the error is have something to do with the installation of WSL, it could be a false positive since some users who’ve installed WSL still encountered the same problem. Here’s the context of the error:
“Installing, this may take a few minutes…WslRegisterDistribution failed with error: 0x8007019e/0x8000000dError: 0x8007019e/0x8000000d The parameter is incorrect.Press any key to continue.”
Error code 0x8007019e or 0x8000000d could be due to the absence of supporting Windows 10 features since the error does not even let one use the WSL-based command line. If you are one of the users facing this problem, then you’ve come to the right place as this post will provide you with a couple of suggestions to fix it.
There are two options you can check out to fix the problem, but before you do that, you need to make sure that the Windows Subsystem for Linux feature is enabled. The two options include enabling WSL using the “Turn Windows features on or off” option and using the Windows PowerShell.
Option 1 – Try to enable the WSL using the “Turn Windows features on or off” option
To get started, search for “Turn Windows Features on or off” in the Start Search and click on the appropriate result to open a dialog box.
After that, you will see a populated list in the dialog box and from there, look for the “Windows Subsystem for Linux” option.
Once you find it, select OK. This will search and install the system files needed and ask you to restart your computer.
Restart your computer. The Linux distro should now work without any trouble.
Option 2 – Try to use Windows PowerShell
The next thing you can do to fix the error code 0x8007019e or 0x8000000d is to use Windows PowerShell.
Tap the Win + X keys and click on the “Windows PowerShell (Admin)” option to open Windows PowerShell as admin.
After that, execute this command to enable the Windows Subsystem for Linux feature: Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Windows-Subsystem-Linux
The command you entered will start to search for the required system files and install them.
If prompted, type “Y” to restart your computer. This should fix the problem.
If your WIFI signal is strong but you can not connect to the internet then keep reading in order to find out why this happens and what can you do to fix it.
One very important thing to know and understand is that WIFI and the internet are two different things and that they altho connected and working together are basically 2 things.
WIFI is a name for a group of technologies that are using radio vawes to connect to the router in order to access the internet. The Internet itself is series of computers all connected in LAN. Think of WIFI like some invisible cable that connects your computer to the router. When we put things into perspective this way it becomes clear that we can indeed have a strong WIFI signal and that we are connected to the router but the router itself is not connected to the internet.
So basically troubleshooting an internet connection is troubleshooting the router itself. The most common approach is to reset the router, turn it off, then back on, check cables, etc. But be sure that if your WIFI signal is strong and you can not access the internet it is a router issue.
If you have encountered the “YOU ARE NOT AUTHORIZED TO ACCESS THIS WEB PAGE AS PER THE DOT COMPLIANCE” error while trying to visit a website using either Firefox or Chrome browser, then read on as this post will guide you on how you can fix this error.
Apart from this error message, you might also see an alternative message that says, “Web Page Blocked! The page you have requested has been blocked because the URL is banned as per the Government Rules”.
When you get any of the aforementioned error messages when visiting a website, this means that it has been marked. It is mostly recommended to not access the site as it might be blocked for some illegal reason. However, if you are certain that the website is legitimate and safe and you believe that it has been blocked by accident, then you can check out the given methods in this post to unblock and access the blocked or restricted website.
There isn’t actually a straightforward way to remove the restriction on the website or the DOT compliance. And it won’t matter what browser you use as you will still get the same error. Thus, the best way to go about this issue is for you to bypass the ISP restriction. But before you proceed, keep in mind that the ISPs (Internet Service Providers) can block any website when a request goes through their servers.
Option 1 – Try changing the DNS
If the request to access the website does not go through the ISP’s DNS server, you might have a chance in accessing it by changing your DNS settings. You can try using the Google Public DNS.
Tap the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
Then type “inetcpl.cpl” in the field and hit Enter to pull up the Internet Properties.
After that, go to the Connections tab and select the LAN settings.
From there. Uncheck the “Use a Proxy Server” option for your LAN and then make sure that the “Automatically detect settings” option is checked.
Now click the OK and the Apply buttons.
Restart your PC.
Note: If you are using a third-party proxy service, you have to disable it.
Option 2 – Try to install a Proxy Extension
You could also try installing a Proxy extension or Proxy software as it could also help you access the website you are trying to open as it allows you to access the blocked websites by routing the request through their server. Aside from that, it can also hide it from ISPs to make them look like the content is coming from the proxy servers.
Option 3 – Try using a VPN connection
There are instances when the network that your computer is logged on might have blocked your access to the website you are trying to open and so to fix it, you can try to use a VPN connection. There is a lot of free VPN software out there but just make sure that you install a trusted one. Once you’ve connected using VPN, try to open the website again and see if you can now access it.
Option 4 – Check the Windows Host file
You can also try to cross check the Windows Hosts file to find out if the website you are trying to open has been blocked because if it is, then it’s no wonder why you’re getting the ERR CONNECTION TIMED OUT error in Chrome. There are instances when some third party application modifies the file and add some websites to the block lists. So if the website is indeed blocked, you need to remove it from the list.
Option 5 – Try to contact your ISP
If none of the options given above worked, then you can try to contact your ISP as there are times when DOT clears a website, the ISPs are still blocking it. Thus, it’s probably better if you reach out to them and ask them to unblock the website from their end.

As you know, networks that are domain-based are common in organizations and companies. These domain-based networks require multiple computers to be controlled through a single node known as a server. And the one that sets certain policies and restrictions on every system that is joined to the domain is the server administrator.
So if you want to add your computer to a domain, you need to have the following information available:
The domain name
A user account name that’s registered in the active directory associated with the server
Windows Enterprise, Pro, or education version
In this post, you will be guided on how you can join or remove a domain. To get started, follow the given instructions below.
Option 1 – Joining a domain
First, you need to connect your computer to the network associated with the server since your computer and the server have to be on the same network.
Next, click the Start button and then click on the gear-like icon for Settings to open it.
After that, navigate to this path: Accounts > Access work or school.
Then click on Connect. This will open a new dialog box and from there, select the “Join this device to a local Active Directory domain” option.
Afterward, you will be asked to enter the username and password of your domain account.
Now select your Account type and when you proceed, you have to restart your computer. Your domain account should now be created.
Option 2 – Removing a domain
You need to open the Windows 10 Settings app.
And from there, go to this path: Accounts > Access work and school.
Next, select the account you want to remove from the domain and then click on Disconnect.
A prompt will then appear that says, “Are you sure you want to remove this account? This will remove your access to resources like email, apps, network, and all content associated with it. Your organization might also remove some data stored on this device”. Just click on Yes.
This will give you a Disconnect from the organization prompt.
Now click on Disconnect and select Restart now to restart your computer. This will complete the removal process of the domain.
As you know, you can find the number keys in two spots on your keyboard – one is above the letters while the second one is at the number pad. Recently, a number of users reported not being able to type any numbers on their keyboards while some reported that their keyboards only type numbers. This issue could occur on both sets of the number keys or on the one at the number pad. This is a rare situation and seldom happens to users. So if you are one of the few who experience the same problem then you’ve come to the right place as this post will guide you on what you can do to fix the keyboard issue.
This issue is most likely due to a switched-off number pad, outdated or corrupted keyboard drivers, turned on mouse keys or it might have something to do with the physical connections. Whatever the cause is, here are some options you have to try to resolve the problem.
Option 1 – Try to enable Numlock
The first thing you can do to fix the issue with the keyboard is to enable the Numlock since one of the most common reasons for this kind of problem is where the keyboard won’t type numbers because the Numlock key is disabled. Thus, you have to enable this key by pressing it once to enable the number pad.
Option 2 – Turn off the Mouse key
From the Start Menu, go to Control Panel.
Navigate to Ease of Access Center.
Then select the option “Make the keyboard easier to use”.
Navigate to the option “Control the mouse with keyboard” and then uncheck the “Turn On Mouse Keys” option to turn off the Mouse key.
Click on Apply and then on OK to save the changes made.
Note: The problem with the keyboard could stem down to a simple issue in its settings so if you have successfully followed the steps for this solution then you should be able to fix the problem.
Option 3 – Reinstall, update or rollback your keyboard driver
Once you’ve determined that the problem is in the software part of the keyboard, it is now time to try to reinstall, update or roll back your keyboard drivers. To reinstall the driver for your keyboard, refer to these steps:
From the WinX Menu, open the Device Manager.
In the Device Manager, you should find your laptop’s keyboard under the “Keyboards” option. Right-click on it and select the “Uninstall” option.
Note: If you’re not quite certain about your laptop’s keyboard, you can uninstall all the keyboards if there’s more than one.
After that, restart your PC and see if the keyboard driver is installing automatically. If not, open the Device Manager again and right-click on Keyboards, and select the option “Scan for hardware changes” to install it.
Once the keyboard driver is installed again, check if your keyboard is now working properly or not.
Option 4 – Try connecting the keyboard to a different USB port or another computer
The problem might have something to do with the USB port that’s currently in use by your keyboard. It could be that it’s not working so it makes sense to unplug it and attach it to another USB port. You can also clean the USB port on both ends to ensure that they are not affected by corrosion. In addition, you can also try connecting the keyboard to a different computer and see if the Shift key works there or not.
Option 5 – Try to check your connections
You can also try checking if the connection mode you are using for your keyboard is functioning properly. For instance, if you are using a Surface 2-in-device, you can clean the connection pins and see if it resolves the problem.
Option 6 – Run the Hardware and Devices Troubleshooters
The first thing you need to do is click on Start and then on the gear-like icon to pull up the window for Settings.
After opening Settings, look for the Update and Security option and select it.
From there, go to the Troubleshoot option located on the left-hand side of the list.
Next, select Keyboard from the list and open the Troubleshooter and run it. Once it is doing its job, wait for it to complete the process and then restart the system.
After the system restarts, check if the problem’s now fixed. If not, refer to the next option given below.
