And the one that sets certain policies and restrictions on every system that is joined to the domain is the server administrator. So if you want to add your computer to a domain, you need to have the following information available:

• The domain name
• A user account name that’s registered in the active directory associated with the server
• Windows Enterprise, Pro, or education version

Option 1 – Joining a domain

• First, you need to connect your computer to the network associated with the server since your computer and the server have to be on the same network.
