User account options are a little hidden and not so obvious, well at least not in Windows 10 compared to previous Windows versions. Since we will not be able to find them under typical and standard settings we will need to do few tricks in order to get to them.

Opening control panel

First thing is to press ⊞ WINDOWS + R on your keyboard so the run dialog window pops up on your desktop. Once run dialog is shown type in it control panel as shown in the picture and press OK If you have followed the steps precisely, you should be now in the control panel of Windows 10. Click on the top-right view and choose large icons. The Control panel will switch to a grid-like view, in the current view go to the far-right and almost bottom icon where it says User Accounts and click on it.

User account settings

Once the user account opens click on the bottom link which says Change User Account Control settings. Please note that you will need to be logged in as an administrator or have administrator privileges in order to change this setting. Once you click on the link you will be presented with a User account control slider on the left and a brief explanation on the right Here in the picture, we see Windows default setting and an explanation of when and how he will notify you. If you wish to turn all notifications linked to programs changing computer or you making windows changes, click on the left slider and bring it all the way to the bottom where it says never notify me. Now go to the permissions section and check the box ‘Allow’ under full control. After that go to the ‘Advanced’ tab and do the following: If you are an XP user, select ‘Replace permission entries on all child objects with entries shown here that apply to child objects’ and then press OK to confirm. If you are not an XP user, then follow the same instructions but select the check box that says ‘Reset permissions on all child objects and enable propagation of inheritable permissions’ for the system account. Now click OK to confirm. To activate changes you will have to wait for a while. Once the changes are activated, try installing the Windows Installer package again.

• After that, look for the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver, right-click on it and then select Uninstall.
• Now restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

Note: You might also have to go to the list of installed programs and uninstall a program that is listed as “Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver”. To do so, refer to these steps:

• In the Cortana Search box, type “control panel” and from the search results that appear, click on Control Panel.
• After opening Control Panel, select Programs > Programs and Features which will open the list of installed programs on your computer.
• From there, look for Intel Rapid Storage Technology and uninstall it.

Option 2 – Try to disable the IAStorDataSvc via Services Manager

• Tap the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
• Then type “services.msc” in the field and hit Enter to open Services.
• Next, look for the Intel Rapid Storage Technology services from the list of services and then double-click it.
• Then change its Startup type to “Disabled”.
• After that click on the Apply button and then OK to save the changes made.
• Now exit the Services window and check if the problem’s resolved.
