If you see no improvement in solving Error 0x00000024, and the problem keeps persisting, then you should start over. But this time you should type sfc/scannow instead of chkdsk/f and hit return.

Change the Value to match the network speed of the LAN you’re connecting to your PC and use the manual speed setting.
Click OK to apply the setting and test your network performance. If your adapter doesn’t have the 1GB setting available but you know the rating should go up to that speed, it could indicate that you aren’t using the right driver for the device.
If you don’t have the setting available or the device still only provides 100MB speeds after changing the Speed setting to a manual value, you may have to update the driver for the device.
On the Ethernet Properties Window, once again click on Configure to access the Device Properties Window. Then select the Driver Tab to access your driver details.
Select Update Driver from the available options.
On the Update Driver window, select the option to let Windows Search Automatically for Updated Driver Software.

Microsoft is once again advising its customers to disable Windows print spooler after a new vulnerability that allows hackers to execute malicious code on machines has emerged. While a patch fixing the flaw will be released in due course, the most effective workaround currently on the table is to stop and disable the print spooler service entirely.
"An elevation of privilege vulnerability exists when the Windows Print Spooler service improperly performs privileged file operations. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could run arbitrary code with SYSTEM privileges. An attacker could then install programs; view, change, or delete data; or create new accounts with full user rights."
Stop this service right away or you are risking a potential attack.

Once done, restart your computer and log into the user account where the Start Menu is corrupted.

All you have to do is click the Restart now button. However, if it does not work, you can use the Power buttons from the Start Menu or WinX Menu. Aside from that, you can also use your power buttons such as Alt + Ctrl + Del to restart your computer. And during the boot process, it is recommended that you restart your computer in Safe Mode or even in a Clean Boot State. After that, you can restart your computer in normal mode. This will make sure that no third-party processes will be able to interfere with the Windows Update process. To put your PC in a Clean Boot State, here’s what you have to do:
Log onto your PC as an administrator.
Type in MSConfig in the Start Search to open the System Configuration utility.
From there, go to the General tab and click “Selective startup”.
Clear the “Load Startup items” check box and make sure that the “Load System Services” and “Use Original boot configuration” options are checked.
Next, click the Services tab and select the “Hide All Microsoft Services” check box.
Click Disable all.
Click on Apply/OK and restart your PC. (This will put your PC into a Clean Boot State. And configure Windows to use the usual startup, just simply undo the changes.)
After that, try to install the Windows Updates or upgrade again.
Option 2 – Try running the Windows Module Installer
The Windows Module Installer is a built-in service in the Windows operating system that could help you resolve the Windows update error 0x8024a11a or 0x8024a112.
