Ruffle and FLASH emulation

Emulation of course. We will not be able to get the flash player working, well at least not the original and official one, but we can make flash content playable again inside our browsers. The first thing is first, we need to get an emulator package from the internet in order for this trick to work, one we will be using is RUFFLE. It is lightweight, it is free, it is open source and it is reliable, everything we need. Download RUFFLE from its official website here. For Chrome and Edge download the ZIP package, for Firefox, go to the Firefox section of the tutorial. There is also a desktop version of RUFFLE there so if you are keen on playing your flash content on your desktop computer you might well grab that as well, but for the sake of this tutorial where we are enabling flash in our browsers, we will not focus on that part since it is pretty straightforward. Now once you have downloaded the RUFFLE emulator, please extract it to the desired folder somewhere on your computer. Once it is extracted, start your browser of choice and follow instructions.

FOR CHROME:

1. Navigate to: chrome://extensions/
2. Turn ON developer mode in the top right corner
3. Click on Load unpacked
4. Navigate to the folder where you have extracted RUFFLE

FOR EDGE:

1. Navigate to: edge://extensions/
2. Turn ON developer mode on the bottom left corner
3. Navigate to the folder where you have extracted RUFFLE
4. Turn RUFFLE ON

FOR FIREFOX:

1. Go to the RUFFLE download page, we can not use the zip package we were using for Chrome and Edge
2. Right-click on the Firefox download link
3. Save link by clicking on Save link as...
4. Navigate to about: debugging
5. Click on this Firefox
6. Click Load Temporary Add-on
7. Select the .xpi that you have downloaded

One of the most useful utilities on a Windows 10 computer is the Windows File Explorer. It is undeniably one of the File Managers out there full of features on all the platforms. However, it is not without its issues and one of the most common ones most users encounter is when you are trying to open a folder or a location on File Explorer and it displays a message saying, “Working on it…” as it tries to load the content of that location or folder. This kind of issue mainly occurs to computers that run on an HDD although that doesn’t mean that it can’t happen to other computers that run an SDD. And so if the File Explorer on your Windows 10 computer keeps getting stuck on the “Working on it…” message along with a green animation bar moving very slowly while loading the contents of the folder, then it’s best if you follow the options given below to resolve this problem.

Option 1 – Try deleting the contents of the Automatic Destinations folder

• Tap the Win + R keys on your keyboard to open the Run utility.
• And then type “%AppData%MicrosoftWindowsRecentAutomaticDestinations” and hit Enter to open this location.
• From there, select all the files and tap the Shift + Delete key combination.
• After that, you will get a prompt that will ask you if you want to delete all the files permanently, just click on Yes. This will delete all the Quick Access cache.
• Now check if you can now open a folder or a location without the “Working on it…” message.

Option 2 – Try to rebuild the Search Index

• First, open the Indexing Options using the Search bar.
• Next, click on the appropriate listing, e.g. Users folder.
• After that, click on the Advanced button. This will open a mini-sized window and from there, go to the Index Settings tab.
• Then click on the “Rebuild” option under the Troubleshooting section.
• Now click on OK after the rebuilding is completed. This should rebuild the search index for all the files and thus, fix the File Explorer stuck on the “Working on it…” message.

Option 3 – Try to optimize the folder for General Items

You might also want to try optimizing the folder for General Items as it can help the File Explorer to load the contents faster.

• Just right click on the folder that takes time to load the contents in it and is showing the “Working on it…” message.
• After that, click on Properties to open the Properties mini window.
• From there, go to the Customize tab and click on the drop-down menu to “Optimize this folder for” under the “What kind of folder do you want?” section and then select General Items.
• Then check the checkbox with a label that says, “Also apply this template to all subfolders” and click on the OK button to save the changes.
• Restart File Explorer and check if the problem is now fixed or not.

Option 4 – Try performing a System Restore

Running System Restore can also help you resolve whatever issue that’s causing the “Working on it…” message. You can do this option either by booting into Safe Mode or in System Restore. If you are already in the Advanced Startup Options, just directly select System Restore and proceed with the next steps. And if you have just booted your PC into Safe Mode, refer to the steps below.

• Tap the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
• After that, type in “sysdm.cpl” in the field and tap Enter.
• Next, go to the System Protection tab then click the System Restore button. This will open a new window where you have to select your preferred System Restore point.
• After that, follow the on-screen instructions to finish the process and then restart your computer and check if the problem is fixed or not.

As in previous Windows 10, inside Windows 11 also when you press the ALT + TAB key combination you will get a preview of all running applications along with all Browser tabs so you can go through them and pick the one you want to switch to. Alto, I personally am a big fan of alt-tabbing, I must admit that I am not a big fan of having multiple browsers tabs on screen when I do press key combo. Luckily there is a very easy way to turn this feature off. Turning browsers tabs thumbnails off

1. Press ⊞ WINDOWS + I to open settings
2. Click on System in the sidebar
3. Scroll down and select Multitasking
4. Find Alt + Tab section and click on the drop-down menu
5. Pick Open Windows Only
6. Close settings

Now when you press the ALT + TAB key combination you will still see your browser but only an active tab in it instead of all tabs as different preview thumbnails.

Kernel_Data_Inpage_Error - What is it?

Kernel_Data_Inpage_Error is a BSOD (blue screen of death) error. Also, know as a 0x0000007A Stop error. This bug check indicates that the requested page of kernel data from the paging file failed to be read into memory. In simple words, this means that Windows has trouble reading from the memory. This can apply to both kinds of memory: stored memory on your hard drive and also the dynamic memory in your RAM. The Kernel_Data_Inpage_Error turns your computer screen all blue, stops the program being executed, and sometimes even leads to abrupt system shut down.

Error Causes

Kernel_Data_Inpage_Error may occur due to numerous reasons. The exact cause of this error can easily be found by going through the code displayed in the parameter of 0x00000007A. Let’s take a look at Kernel_Data_Inpage_Error parameter codes and the underlying causes of its occurrence:

• 0xC0000009A- This parameter code triggers missing nonpaged pool resources
• 0xC0000009C- This represents the installed hard disk drive has bad sectors.
• 0xC0000000E- This indicates a hardware failure or an incorrect drive configuration

Further Information and Manual Repair

No matter what the cause for Kernel_Data_Inpage_Error may be, it is advisable to fix it immediately as blue screen of death error codes are considered to be critical PC errors that can cause serious damages and even result in valuable data loss. Here are a couple of ways to repair this issue on your system:

1. Call the ‘Chkdsk’ (check disk) command on your system.

Windows XP, Vista, and 7 users can call this command, by pressing Windows Key +F and type in ‘chkdsk’ and run. However, you can’t run it while actively using Windows but you can always schedule it to start automatically the next time your computer turns on. Wrap up what you need and then reboot. Chkdsk disk checking process can take a long time, especially on large and slow hard drives. To run this command on Windows 8, open Windows search by pressing Windows Key+ F and then type ‘cmd’. Then right-click on the command prompt and choose the option ‘Run as Administrator’. To continue with the disk checking process, here you will be prompted to provide your administrator authentication. Once you insert the administrator authentication, type the command ‘Chkdsk C:/f/r/x” where the letter ‘C’ indicates the drive you want to examine and repair. Run it to scan for Kernel_Data_Inpage_Errors on your system. Chkdsk command will detect and repair errors on the hard drive and then automatically reboot.

Limitations to this Solution:

‘Chkdsk’ is a value-adding inbuilt disk checking tool in PC new Window versions; nonetheless, this command has certain limitations. It is time-consuming. You may have to wait for a long time for it to scan your system. Also when disk check is running, you will have to stop all other activities on your system. Furthermore, Chkdsk does not scan and fix all registry errors and other PC-related errors. So, you can’t be 100% sure that it will resolve all the Kernel_Data_Inpage_Errors on your PC.
