Instaling and removing applications from your Windows can sometimes leave some traces that are unpleasant and can cause annoyances. One of these annoyances is the program in the startup section of the task manager.
If you ever opened task manager and went into the startup section trying to disable some of the startup items on your Windows boot there might be a chance that you have experienced and seen a program without any icon or information about it just sitting there.
This is due to some applications being removed from the system but for some reason, it still shows itself in startup and it is quite annoying. So here we will show you how to get rid of this annoyance so your startup is clean again without junk in it.
Removing a program from startup
Locating the source of the issue
The first thing of course is to open the task manager itself and navigate to the startup tab. Inside the startup tab right-click on the column header and tick or enable Startup type and command line. Now you will see the location of the supposed file (that is missing or you could just go there by right-clicking on the item, but here it is greyed).
99% of the time startup type will be registry since the file is missing, if it was a file fix would be just to simply delete the file in the folder but since it was installed and not properly removed registry key is still present but the file cannot be found. After confirmation that the file is indeed missing and that the startup type is registry open the registry editor by typing Regedit in search and pressing enter.
Removing the key from registry
Inside Registry editor navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. Inside on right part, you will see all auto-start entries added by installed applications.
Locate one that is causing issues by comparing its path with the path inside the task manager command line and delete the key. Once the key is deleted right-click on RUN on the left part and choose HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE to quickly jump on that key location and repeat the process of key deletion if needed. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE will delete startup entry for all users and sometimes entry will not be present here since the application is not installed for all users or there are no other users on the machine.
After the procedure is finished, reboot your systems in order to apply changes.

Option 1 – Try using the System File Checker
The System File Checker or SFC is a built-in command utility that helps in restoring corrupted files as well as missing files. It replaces bad and corrupted system files to good system files that might be causing the incorrect folder or file size in Windows 10. To run the SFC command, follow the steps given below.
Tap Win + R to launch Run.
Type in cmd in the field and tap Enter.
After opening Command Prompt, type in sfc /scannow
The command will start a system scan which will take a few whiles before it finishes. Once it’s done, you could get the following results:
Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them.
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
Option 2 – Try resetting Windows 10
To fix the folder and file size issue, you can try resetting Windows 10. Doing so won’t get rid of any file in your system – instead of erasing all your media files and documents, this reset option resets all the system settings and files. That way, you won’t have to deal with inaccurate folders or file sizes as you browse and use your files.

As mentioned, this is already a known issue and a lot of Windows 10 users have already complained about it to Microsoft so a bug fix will be soon released in the latest Windows Updates.

In case you don’t know, Microsoft has included an Enhanced Search Mode in the new Windows 10 v1903. This new Enhanced Search mode, compared to the Classic Mode, indexes everything on your Windows 10 computer, and in this post you will be guided on how you can disable this new feature as well as discuss how it is different from the Classic Search mode.
Over the years, the Windows 10 Start Search has changed. A Classic Search is the term used for the old search technique in Windows 10. To simply put it, it would only index files and folders which you want to get indexed and if the search term is not in the index, it would initiate the regular search which would take quite a while and this is where the Enhanced Windows Search comes in. This feature allows you to exclude folders where the Search will not look and index anything that could be personal to you. The initial crawl of your data will take place only when connected to power and during that time, both the CPU usage and battery will take a bit of a hit.
To enable the Enhanced Search Mode in your Windows 10 computer, here’s what you have to do:
Step 1: Go to Settings > Search > Searching Windows.
Step 2: Next, click on the radio button for Enhanced.
Step 3: After that, select the folders which the Windows Indexer should exclude from the Enhanced Search mode.

NVIDIA GeForce Experience Service – Automatic (Delayed Start)
NVIDIA Geforce Experience Backend Service – Automatic (Delayed Start)
NVIDIA Telemetry Container service – Automatic
Next, double click on each one of the services and go to Properties. Here, check if the service is running. If it’s not, just click on the Start button. On the other hand, if they’re already running, just click on Stop and then click on Start again.
Option 2 – Try to update the NVIDIA Display drivers
You can also try updating the NVIDIA display drivers as it might help in fixing the error. To update them, follow the steps below.
Tap the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
Next type in “dxdiag” in the field and click OK or hit Enter to open the DirectX Diagnostic Tool.
From there, you can see what type of NVIDIA graphics card that your system is on.
Take note of your graphics card information and then look for the best drivers for your operating system. Once you’ve downloaded and installed the file, restart your PC.

Option 3 – Try to roll back the driver to the previous version
If updating the NVIDIA display drivers didn’t work for you, then it’s time to roll back the device drivers. It is most likely that after you updated your Windows computer that your driver also needs a refresh.
Tap the Win + R keys to launch the Run window and then type in the “msc” command and hit Enter to open the Device Manager window.
Under the Device Manager, you will see a list of drivers. From there, look for the NVIDIA Drivers and expand it.
Next, select the driver entries that are labeled appropriately.
Then select each one of them and double click to open a new mini window.
After that, make sure that you’re on the Driver tab and if you are not, just navigate to it then click the Roll Back Driver button to switch back to the previous version of the NVIDIA Drivers.
Now restart your computer to successfully apply the changes made.
Option 4 – Try to run System Restore
You could also run System Restore as it might help fix the error code 0x0001 in NVIDIA GeForce Experience.
Tap the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
After that, type in “sysdm.cpl” in the field and tap Enter.
Next, go to the System Protection tab then click the System Restore button. This will open a new window where you have to select your preferred System Restore point.
After that, follow the on-screen instructions to finish the process and then restart your computer and then check if the error code 0x0001 in GeForce Experience is now fixed.
Option 5 – Do a clean install on the NVIDIA driver
Before you do a clean install on the NVIDIA driver, you have to download the latest version of the Display Driver first.
Boot your Windows 10 PC into Safe Mode.
After that, double click on the executable file of the Display Driver Uninstaller to run and install it.
After the installation, open the program. Once you do, you should see the following window on your screen:
In the program window, click on the “Clean and restart” button.
After your PC has rebooted, download the NVIDIA drivers.
Then select your Product Type, Product Series, Product, Operating System, and Language appropriate for your hardware specifications as well as personal requirements.
Next, click on Search to display the latest available driver as per the information you entered.
And click on Agree and Download to start downloading the latest driver executable file.
Run the executable file after you finished downloading the latest driver executable file and then select Custom and click on Next.
Afterward, select “Clean Install” and proceed. Doing so would install the latest driver on your PC.
Restart your PC and check if the error’s now fixed. If not, you can try installing an older version of the driver instead.
As you know, Windows operating system comes with tons of features. Some of which are not intended to be used by normal customers or users directly which means that only a small percentage of the huge user base of the operating system leverages the use of such features. However, they’ve added some major value to the feature list of the operating system. You can find these features under the “Turn Windows Features on and off” option. This indicates that if you want to, you can just type in “Turn Windows Features on and off” in the search box and then enable any feature that you want to enable. Aside from that, there are other ways you can disable or enable the optional Windows Features in your Windows 10 computer.
Option 1 – via Control Panel
Open Control Panel and select Uninstall a Program.
After that, select the “Turn Windows features On or Off” option on the left side.
Option 2 – via Command Prompt
Tap the Win + X combination on your keyboard or right-click on the Start button and then click on Command Prompt (Admin). Alternatively, you can also type “cmd” in the Cortana search box and right-click on the Command Prompt icon, and select the “Run as administrator” option.
If a User Account Control or UAC prompt appears, click on Yes.
Next, type in the following command to see the list of the available features.
DISM /online /get-features /format:table | more
Now all you have to do is copy the name of the feature that you want to enable and for you to do that, you need to execute the following command:
DISM /online /enable-feature /featurename:[Enter the name of the feature here] –All
Note: Now if you want to disable a feature that’s already enabled in your computer, refer to these sub-steps:
First, you need to check what features are enabled, and for you to find out, enter this command: DISM /online /get-features /format:table | find “Enabled" | more
And if you want to check the detailed information about a particular feature, you can enter this command: DISM /online /get-featureinfo/featurename:[Enter the name of the feature here]
Option 3 – via Windows Powershell
As you know, the Windows Powershell is a very important tool in Windows 10, and a powerful one at that since you can do a lot of things using this command line. So while you use this tool you need to populate the list of available features first and then you have to download the feature your desired feature.
Search for PowerShell in the Cortana search box and then run it with administrator privileges.
Next, type in the following command to populate the list of available features:
Get-WindowsOptionalFeature –Online
After that, enter the following command to install any feature you want to enable from the list of available features:
You also have the option to fetch the latest features from an updated offline source. The source could be an ISO any other type of image or just a folder. So you need to decide if you want to use Windows Powershell or Command Prompt.
If you want to use Command Prompt, just enter this command: exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:< /All /Source:<Enter the path of the feature here>
If you want to use Windows Powershell, use this command: Install-WindowsFeature –Source “<Enter the path of the feature here>”
Note: If you want to get the latest features, you need to get the latest version of the image of the operating system that you are trying to install the feature from.
Each time when you press WINDOWS + PrtScn key on your keyboard a screenshot is taken and saved on your Hard drive, to be more precise, it is saved in a specific folder which is in c:\Users\Your user name\Pictures\Screenshots. Now, this specific location is not anything that's bad but it is a little deep and not so user-friendly for quick access.
Luckily this default location can be changed into any folder that you like.
Changing location
First thing is to open File Explorer and then navigate to your PC. Once you go to your PC, go to Pictures, and inside right-click on the Screenshots folder. If there is no screenshots folder inside, this means that since Windows was installed no screenshots were taken with WINDOWS + PrtScn key combination. Please note that just by pressing PrtScn you will create a screenshot but you will place it inside the clipboard ready to be pasted somewhere, with WINDOWS + PrtScn you are saving the screenshot directly in a file on your hard drive.
So once you clicked on the Screenshots folder, go to the bottom and click on properties. Inside properties go to the Location tab. In the location, tab clicks on MOVE and browse to your new location where you would like screenshots to be saved. Once you select the folder for screenshots, click on the Select Folder button and confirm with OK. After this, Windows will ask you would you like to move existing screenshots into the chosen folder. Click YES or NO, depending on your preference.
After this easy setup, all of your new screenshots will be placed now inside the chosen folder.

Please note that some websites have certain scripts that will prevent you to resume interrupted downloads, in this case, using chrome's download manager will not work and you will have to start the download again.
All of this being said, if your download has been interrupted, and went away, pin Chrome press CTRL + J to open download manager, find your interrupted download, and press the resume button.
