• Next, select your country and click on Next.

Check your internet connection: As mentioned earlier the error code 0x8024402f is related to connection problems with Windows Update. It means that your computer isn’t able to connect with the Microsoft Update server; therefore you’re unable to receive any new updates. 6. Inside TaskbarSi double click in order to set the value to 0 if you want a small size Taskbar, 1 is if you want to revert back to medium (standard one), or type in 2 if you want a large Taskbar.

8. Reboot PC

Option 2 – Try modifying some entries in the Windows Registry

If the first option didn’t work in fixing the problem, you can try to alter some entries in the Windows Registry using the Registry Editor.

• First, tap Win + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
• Then type “Regedit” in the field and hit Enter to open the Registry Editor.
• Next, navigate to this registry path: HKLMSoftwarePoliciesMicrosoftWindows Defender
• From there, look for the “DisabledAntivirus” and “DisableAntiSpyware” DWORDS from the right pane and change each one of their values to “0”. On the other hand, if you don’t see any of these DWORDS, you can create them instead and give each one of them a 0 value.
• To create a DWORD, simply right-click on any empty space and select New > DWORD. Then name them both as “DisabledAntivirus” and “DisableAntiSpyware”.
• Afterward, set the value of the newly-created DWORDS to 0.
• Now exit the Registry Editor and reboot your PC to apply the changes made and then check if it has fixed the error in Windows Defender or not.

Installing or updating Google Chrome does not always go smoothly as there are times when it also encounters some errors like the error code 0x80072EE7. • Then type “inetcpl.cpl” in the field and hit Enter to pull up the Internet Properties.
• After that, go to the Connections tab and select the LAN settings.
• From there. Uncheck the “Use a Proxy Server” option for your LAN and then make sure that the “Automatically detect settings” option is checked.
• Now click the OK and the Apply buttons.
• Restart your PC.

Note: If you are using a third-party proxy service, you have to disable it.

Option 3 – Check your VPN

If you are using a VPN application, then this option should apply to you, if not, skip this option and proceed to the next one. There are times when VPN software causes some issues like this error. If that’s the case, you can try to disable your VPN temporarily and see if the error is resolved or not and if turns out that your VPN is the culprit, you have to uninstall it and install a new one or its latest version. To uninstall it, follow the steps below.

• Tap the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog box
• Then type “appwiz.cpl” in the field and hit Enter to open the Programs and Features in Control Panel.
• From there, look for the VPN service you are using, select it and then click on Uninstall to remove it.
• After that, restart your computer and try to install the latest version of the program again. It should work now. If not, proceed to the next available option below.

Option 4 – Try to run the Chrome Cleanup tool

You might want to run Google Chrome’s built-in Malware Scanner & Cleanup tool as it could also help in getting rid of any unwanted ads, pop-ups, and even malware, as well as unusual startup pages, toolbars, and anything else that might overtake the network and could affect the performance of the browser.

Option 5 – Reset Google Chrome

• And in the Search results box, double click on Remote Desktop Users.
• Now click on the OK button to save the changes made and check if you can now connect to a remote host or not.

Option 2 – Try to add a user to the Security group

You can actually block or allow a user from logging on through the Remote Desktop Services. However, if you do not have the right setting, you won’t be able to use this functionality. Thus, you need to confirm this setting. To do that, follow the steps below.

• In the Start Search, type “secpol.msc” in the field and tap Enter to open the Local Security Policy panel.
• From there, go to User Rights Assignment.
• Next, look for a policy named “Allow log on through Remote Desktop Services” located on your right-hand side and then double click on it to open its Properties.
• If you were not able to find the Remote Desktop Users under Administrator, then you have to add it by simply clicking on the Add User or Group button.
• After that, enter “Remote Desktop Users” in the blank field and click the OK button to save the changes made.

• On the next screen that appears, look for the Advanced button and click on it and use the Find Now button to search.
• You will see “NETWORK SERVICE”. Double click on it and then save the changes you’ve made to the settings.

1. First start Windows in safe mode. To do this, restart your computer and press F8. On the Windows Advanced Options Menu, use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode.
2. Once you select it press enter. Now use the arrow keys to select the operating system, press enter to start your computer in safe mode.
3. Go to Start, click Run and then type ’msinfo32’ in the open box and press OK to continue. Then under the System Summary option, expand Components and then click Display to note the information that corresponds to the INF File Item. And then simply quit the utility.
4. After that, go to the start menu again and then the My Computer and Properties option.
5. Press the Hardware Tab and then click the Device Manager tab. Go to the ‘Display Adapters’ option and press the option ‘Uninstall. To confirm action press OK.
6. Once again, go to the start menu and run and then type the following commands as illustrated below and after each command press enter.

• ren %systemroot%infINF file name from Step 5.inf *inf.old
• ren %systemroot%infINF file name from Step 5.pnf *pnf.old
