• After that, click on Advanced. And from the Privacy and Security section, click on the “Clear browsing data” option.
• Now click on the CLEAR DATA button.
• Restart Chrome.

Mozilla Firefox:

• Open Firefox and then click on the three horizontal lines to open the menu.
• From there, click on Options.
• Next, select Privacy & Security.
• After that, click on the Clear Now button under the Cached Web Content section and then click the Clear All Data button under the Site Data section.
• Restart Firefox.

Option 2 – Flush DNS and reset the TCP/IP

There are some websites that don’t resolve since the DNS in your computer still remembers that old IP address. And so you need to flush the DNS as well as reset the TCP/IP on your computer.

• Click the Start button and type in “command prompt” in the field.
• From the search results that appear, right-click on Command Prompt and select the “Run as administrator” option.
• After opening Command Prompt, you have to type each one of the commands listed below. Just make sure that after you type each command, you hit Enter
  • ipconfig /release
  • ipconfig /all
  • ipconfig /flushdns
  • ipconfig /renew
  • netsh int ip set dns

After you key in the commands listed above, the DNS cache will be flushed and the TCP/IP will reset.

Option 3 – Try using the Google Public DNS

Changing your DNS to Google Public DNS might also help you in fixing the “HTTP Error 304 Not modified” error. To do so, follow the steps below.

• The first thing you have to do is right-click on the network icon in the Taskbar and select Network and Sharing Center.
• Next, click on the “Change Adapter Settings” option.
• After that, search for the network connection that you are using to connect to the internet. Note that the option might be “Wireless Connection” or “Local Area Connection”.

• Then select the new window to choose the “Internet Protocol 4 (TCP/IPv4)” option.

You might also want to run the Cleanup Tool in Chrome if you are using this browser as well as disable all the extensions as some of them, if not all, might be the reason why you’re getting the “HTTP Error 304 Not modified” error.

Word has stopped working is probably know to a wide audience of its users, I think I could safely say that each Word user has experienced this error at least once, luckily the error is not anything to worry about since it is an easily fixable issue.

Try automated solutions

There are some fully automated solutions that could fix any PC issues, some are available in free versions. If you prefer to do things manually however keep on reading and follow the instructions below.

Manual FIXES:

1. Update MS Word

   Make sure that you are running the latest build of Word in order to eliminate all bugs and to have a smooth running experience. Go to File > Account > Product Information > Update Options and click Enable Update and then select Update Now.

2. Check the file

   Corrupted files can cause this crash and this error, try opening another text file inside the Word to eliminate file corruption.

3. Run Word in safe mode and disable add-ins

   Did you know that MS Word has a safe mode like Windows? Click on File and then on Options Click on Add-Ins from the options list Select COM Add-ins from the drop-down menu and click on Go Uncheck all the add-ins and click OK to confirm Close the Dialog Box and MS Word. Now try running MS Word normally and see if it works Repeat steps to enable the add-ins, one at a time, and check which add-in is causing this error

4. Repair Word installation

   Press ⊞ WINDOWS + R to open the run dialog In run dialog type in control panel and press ENTER Inside Control Panel click on Programs and Features Locate and click on Microsoft Office to select it Once selected click on change located on top of the application list Once Office Windows loads click on Repair Wait for the process to finish

5. Reinstall MS office

   If all the previous solutions failed next step would be to completely uninstall MS Office and install it again once the old one has been completely removed from the system. Go to the control panel as explained in the previous step and select Office Instead of Change this time click on uninstall and follow on-screen instructions Once uninstall is finished, install a new copy of MS Office.

During Windows 10 installation, you will see all the beautiful user interfaces, however, what’s more, important are the drivers, your processor, and free storage disk in order for the installation to be successfully completed. So if you are getting the CompareExchange128 error during the installation of Windows 10, this means that the CPU lacks a very important instruction known as “CMPXCHG16B”. Thus, if you don’t have CMPXCHG16B, then it will result in the CompareExchange128 error when you install Windows 10. On the other hand, if nothing really works, it’s maybe time for you to get a new CPU but before you resort to that, in the meantime, you can try following the options given below to fix the CompareExchange128 error during the installation of Windows 10.

Option 1 – Try to update the BIOS and Chipset Drivers

One of the best things you can do to fix the CompareExchange128 error is by updating the BIOS and chipset drivers which is why you need to check if your OEM has an update available for your computer’s BIOS as well as the related chipset drivers. But before that, you need to first check the BIOS version. To do so, follow these steps:

• Type “msinfo32” in the search bar and hit Enter to open the System Information Tools.
• After opening the System Information Tools, check the BIOS version.

Option 3 – Try buying a new hardware

If none of the first two options didn’t work for some reason then maybe it’s time for you to purchase new hardware especially if your computer is way too old. In such cases, it’s better to buy new hardware or better yet, a new computer that can keep up for the next couple of years.
