• Next, go to the C:/Windows/SoftwareDistribution folder and get rid of all the folders and files thereby tapping the Ctrl + A keys to select them all and then click on Delete. Note that if the files are in use, you won’t be able to delete them.
• Once all the contents in the Software Distribution folder are deleted, restart your PC and then go back to Command Prompt and input the following commands again.

net start wuauserv net start bits

Note: Keep in mind that the remove package command is made for AMD 64-bit machines specifically.

The downloaded Windows Updates are placed in a folder called “SoftwareDistribution”. The files downloaded in this folder are automatically deleted once the installation is completed. However, if the files are not clean up or if the installation is still pending, you can delete all the files in this folder after you pause the Windows Update service. • Open the WinX Menu.
• From there, open Command Prompt as admin.
• Then type in the following command – don’t forget to hit Enter right after typing each one of them.

• After that, exit Command Prompt and restart your computer.

3. Turn off Firewall or antivirus. New antivirus and firewall applications can sometimes mark certain websites as malicious and will cut contact with them rendering them unable to be accessed or opened. Try turning the firewall and antivirus temporarily off and then try to access the website.
