Windows 11 has brought some bad reviews for its inability to change the taskbar location to the screen. Luckily we can still hide it if needed.
In order to hide the taskbar from the screen follow these simple instructions:
Right-click the taskbar itself and select “Taskbar Settings” in the tiny menu that pops up or open Windows Settings and navigate to Personalization > Taskbar
Click on Taskbar Behaviors
Check the box next to Automatically hide the Taskbar
Close settings
As soon as you click on the box to hide the taskbar Windows 11 will apply your settings and hide the taskbar, you will get one line at the very bottom of the screen indicating that the taskbar is still present, just hidden.
When you reach the bottom of your screen with the mouse it will pop up and be visible again, just like in all Windows so far.
Windows 10 has a pre-installed Weather app that offers the local weather information, forecast, temperature gradient, historical data, multiple locations, and many more. It can be handy especially if you tend to check on the weather. However, if you are one of those users who barely use this app, you have the option to uninstall it from your computer and that’s exactly what we’re going to do in this post.
There are several methods to uninstall the Weather app in Windows 10. You can uninstall it via Settings or Start Menu or even using a command in Windows PowerShell. Note that uninstalling the Weather app does not affect the functionality of your Windows 10 computer by any means so you shouldn’t worry about uninstalling it. To get started, follow the instructions provided below.
Option 1 – Uninstall the Weather app through Settings
The first option you can try to uninstall the Weather app is through Settings. It’s a very simple process so you wouldn’t have any trouble following it.
First, click on the Start menu and go to Settings.
From there, select System > Apps & Features.
After that, wait until the list of apps is opened, and then look for the Weather app and click on it.
Next, click on Uninstall in the given menu to uninstall the Weather app from your computer.
Option 2 – Uninstall the Weather app through the Start Menu
Another simple way to uninstall the Weather app is through the Start Menu. It only takes a right click and there are actually two ways to go about this – one is new with the recent feature update of Windows. How? Refer to these steps:
Click on the Start button and type in “weather” and right-click on the Weather app which appears in the list.
Next, click on the Uninstall option. This will uninstall the Weather app.
You can also use the other uninstall option which you can find on the right side of the list that also shows other quick action for the app.
Option 3 – Uninstall the Weather app through a command in Windows PowerShell
Tap the Win + X key combination and click on the “Windows PowerShell (Admin)” option to open PowerShell with admin privileges.
After that, execute the following Remove App package command for the Weather app to uninstall it.
Internal error 2753 is associated with Windows Installer failure. The Windows Installer is basically an in-built software program in Windows 7 and 8.
It installs all programs on the system smoothly, saves the program in the computer program files and in the Windows Registry.
Though this can be carried manually Windows Installer makes the installation process much easier.
However, internal error 2753 can cause a great deal of distress and frustration during program installation. This error prevents you from installing your desired program successfully.
Solution
Error Causes
The 2 known causes for Internal Error 2753 are:
Viral infection
Windows Installer not properly registered
Further Information and Manual Repair
To resolve internal error 2753 on your system, try the methods discussed below. These methods are easy and require no technical expertise.
Let’s get started:
Method 1 - Remove All Malicious Programs
Malicious programs like viruses, malware, adware, Trojan and spyware can corrupt programs on your PC like Windows Installer.
If this is the underlying cause of error code 2753, then simply download a powerful antivirus on your system. Run it to scan for all such malicious programs and remove them.
Once your PC is clean, try installing your desired program. This will hopefully resolve the issue. If the error still pops up then try method 2.
Method 2 - Register Windows Installer Properly
To do this, go to the start menu and then open Run and type ‘cmd’ in the box, and press OK. This will open the DOS command window.
In the command prompt type "regsvr32 vbscript.dll" and then press Enter to proceed. After that, you will see a message that will read as "DllRegisterServer in vbscript.dll succeeded."
This means Window Installer files have been successfully registered on your PC. Now you can try installing your desired program again.
If the installation begins and completes successfully, then the error is resolved.
Method 3 - Undo Recent Changes
If nothing works, then use the Windows System Restore Utility tool to undo recent changes. This will bring back your PC in the former state before you experienced the error 2753 on your PC.
To access System Restore Utility, press Start and type System Restore in the search box. Now follow the steps in the Wizard to choose a restore point. Once you select the point, reboot your system to activate changes.
Msvcr71.dll is a dynamic library link that belongs to the Microsoft Visual C Runtime library. This file is a core Windows component used by numerous Windows applications like Microsoft Office version 2002 and 2003, Windows XP Media Center, and Windows XP Tablet PC Edition.
The Msvcr71.dll error commonly occurs when two applications share the same DLL file. When an application is deleted sometimes the Msvcr71.dll file is also deleted which is associated with two applications on your PC.
So, when you try to run the other application you come across the Msvcr71.dll error on your system.
The error also occurs when you try to install new programs or update the old program versions. This also misconfigures the DLL files and results in the Msvcr71.dll error.
Msvcr71.dll error messages are often displayed as the following:
“This application has failed to start because Msvcr71.dll was not found.”
“Mscvr71.dll is a bad windows image. Please check against your installation diskette.”
“Cannot find [PATH]msvcr71.dll"
"The file msvcr71.dll is missing."
Solution
Error Causes
Deletion of the Msvcr71.dll file is one cause for the Msvcr71.dll file error. However, this error can also be generated due to other causes such as:
Corrupt, missing, or misconfigured msvcr71.dll file
Damaged and missing .dll files
Corrupt runtime code library
Registry issues
Malware attack and viral infection
Msvcr71.dll error codes usually occur on Windows versions XP and Vista.
Further Information and Manual Repair

1. Reinstall the program/application that is causing the Error to Pop up on the Screen
When this error code occurs due to misconfigured or missing the Msvcr71.dll file, try reinstalling the program/application that is causing the error to pop up on your screen.
When doing this, make sure there is no problem with the setup files from the disk you are performing the installation on your PC.
2. Check the Recycle Bin and Restore the Deleted File
If the Msvcr.dll file was deleted accidentally when you uninstalled a program on your PC, then the deleted file is most likely to be in the recycle bin. Check it and if you find it, restore it. Once the file is restored try running the application again.
3. Scan for Malware and Viruses

What software are you using to keep your information and all your files and memories safe?
None? Yikes. Let’s hope no damage has been done to your data yet then. Because with how the digital world has evolved, your data might be getting leaked and you have no idea.
Why do you need to invest in security software?
There’s really no good excuse not to purchase a quality platform for PC protection. Especially since top security solutions are available at such affordable prices nowadays, your wallet would barely even notice it.
At this point, only people who barely use their PCs and have zero sensitive information on them can get away with simply using the built-in Windows 10/11 security software. But we guarantee that those people are extremely hard to find and that you’re not one of them, and here’s why.
Even if you don’t use your computer for things that are very obviously sensitive, such as internet banking, you still have some personal data at risk of being stolen. How so? Well, think about the data you enter into your social media profiles, for example. How devastating would it be if somebody got a hold of any of it? Yep, that’s what we thought.

In the hands of a skilled cybercriminal, your phone number alone could put you at risk of scams, ransomware, identity theft and more. Also think about the stuff you share in texts and social media chats. Think about the websites you visit and how many times you may have accidentally clicked on an ad, which could very well contain malicious software. Those all seem harmless until someone’s actually used them against you.
Now imagine the dangers involved when you actually store truly confidential data on your PC and browsers. Sends shivers down your spine, doesn’t it?
In the case of a successful cyberattack of whatever type (virus, phishing, worms, etc.), there’s so much that is at stake. Businesses/legal persons will suffer from financial loss and damaged reputation, at the very least. Natural persons may be threatened or exploited, get their banking or medical information and even their identity stolen, etc. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
These are our biggest reasons for investing in Windows PC protection software:
Cyberthreats are constantly evolving to the point where built-in or free software won’t cut it anymore.
Those working remotely can have peace of mind knowing both personal and business data is completely secure.
Businesses using top security solutions ensure their customers trust them.
Data breaches are a pain in the you-know-what to handle. Fighting a cyberattack and going back to normal is a demanding process, and not to mention the stress it’ll cause. We’d rather prevent all that by using trustworthy security products!
It helps parents worry a little less about their children’s safety in the online world.
Added bonus: with most products, you get an ad-free browsing experience!
Obviously, there are a lot more reasons to get your PC secured. But we think you get it. So let’s cut to the chase and take a look at our 6 favorite protection solutions and the wonders they can do for you.
*Note that in this article we’re looking at products primarily suited for households and home offices, some for small businesses. No enterprise solutions will make the list today, but stay tuned for a future article on those.

1. Bitdefender Total & Internet Security\
One of the biggest security product vendors out there, Bitdefender offers several awesome solutions. We want to introduce two of our favorites, Bitdefender Total Security and Bitdefender Internet Security.
Bitdefender Total Security is great for both households and smaller offices. You can choose to protect 5 or 10 devices, and not necessarily just Windows devices. It also works for macOS, Android and iOS. It offers a range of powerful features, such as:

Downloading Windows Updates does not always go smoothly as you can encounter several issues like the “Some updates did not finish downloading, We will keep trying, Error code 0x80246007” error. In fact, this error can also occur on other Windows applications like OneNote.
According to security experts, this error happens for many reasons. For one, it could be that the Windows Update database is corrupted. It could also be that there is another process that’s in conflict with the Windows Update components or there might be some issue with the Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS). Whichever the cause may be, you can fix it by following the solutions given below.
Option 1 – Delete the contents in the Temporary folder
You can also try deleting the contents in the Temporary folder – all the downloaded, pending, or failed Windows 10 updates. You can do that using the simple and easy steps below.
Tap the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
Then type “%temp%” in the field and press Enter to open the Temporary folder.
After that, select all the folders and files within the Temp folder and delete all of them.
Option 2 – Try running the Windows Update Troubleshooter
Running the built-in Windows Update troubleshooter is one of the things you can first check out as it is known to automatically resolve any Windows Update errors like Error code 0x80246007. To run it, go to Settings and then select Troubleshoot from the options. From there, click on Windows Update and then click the “Run the troubleshooter” button. After that, follow the next on-screen instructions and you should be good to go.
Option 3 – Try renaming or removing the pending .xml file
The problem might be due to some pending .xml file so you need to rename or remove it. To do so, just go to C:/Windows/WinSxS folder. From there, look for a pending .xml file – you can either rename it or delete it. This will allow the Windows Update to delete any pending tasks and build a new and fresh update check.
Option 4 – Restart the Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS)
The Background Intelligent Transfer Service or BITS is a part of the Windows Update service that manages the background download of Windows Update, as well as scans for new updates and so on. Thus, if your Windows Update fails a couple of times, you might want to restart BITS. For you to do that, make sure that you have admin privileges.
Press the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
Then type “msc” in the field and hit Enter to open Services.
After opening Services, look for the Background Intelligent Transfer Service from the list of services and then double click on it to open Properties.
Next, set the Startup type to Manual and click on the Start button. If it doesn’t help, you can try setting it to Automatic (Delayed) and then reboot your PC.
Option 5 – Run the DISM tool
Running the DISM Tool helps in repairing the Windows System Image as well as the Windows Component Store in Windows 10. Using this built-in tool, you have various options such as the “/ScanHealth”, “/CheckHealth”, and “/RestoreHealth”.
Open the Command Prompt with admin privileges.
Then type in the following commands and make sure to hit Enter right after you type each one of them:
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
Do not close the window if the process takes a while as it will probably take a few minutes to finish.
Option 6 – Delete the files from the Software Distribution folder
The downloaded Windows Updates are placed in a folder called “SoftwareDistribution”. The files downloaded in this folder are automatically deleted once the installation is completed. However, if the files are not clean up or if the installation is still pending, you can delete all the files in this folder after you pause the Windows Update service. For complete instructions, refer to the steps below.
Open the WinX Menu.
From there, open Command Prompt as admin.
Then type in the following command – don’t forget to hit Enter right after typing each one of them.
net stop wuauservnet start cryptSvcnet start bitsnet start msiserver
After entering these commands, it will stop the Windows Update Service, Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS), Cryptographic, and the MSI Installer
Next, go to the C:/Windows/SoftwareDistribution folder and get rid of all the folders and files thereby tapping the Ctrl + A keys to select them all and then click on Delete. Note that if the files are in use, you won’t be able to delete them.
Option 7 – Reset the Catroot2 folder
After resetting the SoftwareDistribution folder, you need to reset the Catroot2 folder to restart the services you just stopped. To do that, follow these steps:
Type each one of the following commands.
net start wuauservnet start cryptSvcnet start bitsnet start msiserver
After that, exit Command Prompt and restart your computer, and then try to run Windows Update once more.
GoforFiles is a Potentially Unwanted Program that allegedly allows users to easily search for files, movies, apps, and other useful things on the internet. In our testing, this program on further inspection does not work, it only displays an error for every search query. To top this off this program comes bundled up with other programs which could be malicious or unwanted.
This program adds startup links into windows, allowing it and its bundled programs to launch every time Windows is restarted or launched. A task scheduled is also made, that lets the launch of the program at different random times during the day.
Many anti-virus applications have marked this program and its bundled counterparts as Potentially Unwanted Programs, and it is highly recommended to remove these programs from your computer.
About Potentially Unwanted Programs
Exactly what is a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP)?
People have encountered it – you download free software, you then discover some unwanted applications on your computer system, or discover a strange toolbar has been included with your browser. You didn’t have them installed, so how did they appear? These unwanted applications, which are called Potentially Unwanted Programs, or PUP in short, usually tag along as a software bundle when downloading the application and could cause serious problems for computer users.
PUP does not involve malware in the traditional sense. What normally makes a PUP different from malicious software is the fact that when you download one, you’re doing it with your consent – although in most cases unintentionally and reluctantly. But, there is no doubt that PUPs remain bad news for computer users as they can be incredibly damaging to the PC in many ways.
How do unwanted programs affect you?
Unwanted programs come in many forms. More commonly, they will be found in adware bundlers which are known to utilize aggressive and misleading advertising. The majority of bundlers install many adware applications from a number of vendors, each of which features its own EULA policy. Safebytes Anti-malware completely removes this threat and safeguards your PC against PUP or malware infection. PUPS also appear in the form of undesirable toolbars or internet browser plug-ins. Not just they needlessly use up space on your screen, toolbars can also manipulate search results, track your web browsing activities, decrease your internet browser’s performance, and slow down your web connection to a crawl.
They could seem harmless but PUPs are generally spyware. They may include dialers, keyloggers, and also other software built inside them that could monitor you or send out your sensitive information to 3rd parties. Because of this unwanted program, your application may freeze, your security protections can get disabled that could leave your computer susceptible, your system could get ruined, and this list goes on and on.
Tips for preventing PUPs
• Study cautiously prior to agreeing to the license agreement as it could have a clause about PUPs.• Always opt for the custom if you are given an option between Recommended and Custom Installations – never click Next, Next, Next thoughtlessly.• Install an advert blocker/pop-up blocker; Deploy anti-malware products such as Safebytes Anti-malware. These software programs will establish a wall between the computer and online criminals.• Be alert when you download and install freeware, open-source software, or shareware. Avoid downloading and installing browser extensions and applications you are not knowledgeable about.• Always download software from reliable sources like official sites as opposed to untrustworthy sharing space. Avoid torrents and peer-to-peer clients.
Can't Install Safebytes Anti-malware because of a Virus? Try This!
Malware could potentially cause all sorts of damage after they invade your system, from stealing your private details to erasing files on your PC. Some malware sits in between the computer and your internet connection and blocks some or all internet sites that you really want to visit. It might also prevent you from the installation of anything on your machine, especially an anti-virus program. If you’re reading this now, you’ve probably realized that a malware infection is a reason for your blocked internet traffic. So what to do when you want to download and install antivirus software like Safebytes? Do as instructed below to get rid of malware through alternative methods.
Boot your PC in Safe Mode
In Safe Mode, you can actually change Windows settings, un-install or install some applications, and remove hard-to-delete viruses. In the event, the virus is set to load automatically when the computer boots, switching to this mode could prevent it from doing so. To get into Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking, press F8 while the system is starting up or run MSConfig and find the “Safe Boot” options under the “Boot” tab. Once you are in safe mode, you can attempt to install your antivirus program without the hindrance of the malicious software. Right after installation, run the malware scanner to remove standard infections.
Switch over to an alternative internet browser
Malicious program code might exploit vulnerabilities on a particular browser and block access to all anti-malware software websites. If you appear to have a trojan attached to Internet Explorer, then switch over to a different web browser with built-in safety features, such as Firefox or Chrome, to download your favorite antivirus program – Safebytes.
Make a bootable USB antivirus drive
Another option is to save and operate an antivirus program entirely from a USB drive. To run anti-virus using a USB drive, follow these simple measures:
1) Make use of another virus-free PC to download Safebytes Anti-Malware.2) Connect the flash drive to a USB port on the clean computer.3) Run the setup program by double-clicking the executable file of the downloaded software, with a .exe file extension.4) Choose the USB stick as the location for saving the software file. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish the installation process.5) Now, plug the USB drive into the infected system.6) Double-click the EXE file to run the Safebytes program from the thumb drive.7) Run Full System Scan to identify and get rid of all kinds of malware.

Technical Details and Manual Removal (Advanced Users)
If you wish to carry out the removal of GoforFiles manually instead of using an automated software tool, you can follow these simple steps: Go to the Windows Control Panel, click on the “Add/Remove Programs” and there, select the offending application to uninstall. In cases of suspicious versions of web browser plug-ins, you can easily get rid of it through your web browser’s extension manager. It is also highly recommended to factory reset your web browser to its default state to fix corrupt settings.
In order to ensure the complete removal, manually check your hard disk and registry for all of the following and eliminate or reset the values as needed. But bear in mind, this can be a complicated task and only computer experts can perform it safely. Also, certain malware is capable of replicating itself or preventing deletion. You’re urged to do this process in Windows Safe Mode.

Steam is one of if not the largest online store for the digital distribution of games on the PC platform. The game gets downloaded to your PC when you are planning to play it and its saves are synched in the Steam cloud. They get automatically downloaded when you install the game but you can also get your saves by directly downloading them from Valve's website in your browser.
If Steam isn’t automatically downloading your old save games after you install a game, ensure Steam Cloud is enabled for that game within Steam.
Locate the game in your Steam library, right-click it, and then select Properties. Click the Updates tab and ensure the Enable Steam Cloud synchronization option is checked for the game. If this option isn’t checked, Steam won’t automatically download your cloud saves.
If you don’t see a Steam Cloud option for a game here, that game doesn’t support Steam Cloud. Not all games on Steam do, it’s up to each game developer.
Download the Files in Your Web Browser
Valve lets you download your Steam cloud save files via a web browser, too. You can download just your saved files without re-downloading the entire game.
To find your saved files, visit Valve’s View Steam Cloud page in your web browser and sign in with your Steam account. You’ll see a list of games using your Steam Cloud storage. Locate the game in the list and click Show Files to see all the files for a game. Each game has a page showing all the files it’s storing in Steam Cloud, as well as the date they were modified. To download a file, click Download. Download all the save files for your game, and you’ll have a copy of its save games. This feature is especially useful for multi-platform games that don’t automatically synchronize save files between platforms.

As previously announced by Google feature to quickly delete the last 15min of browsing history via one button is rolling out now.
For now, only Apple users will be available to use this feature but the Android update is scheduled for later this year, a strange move by Google but it is what it is.
For anyone who is unfamiliar with this feature, basically, Google wants a quick way to remove the last 15min of browsing history as a supposedly stated request to make deleting browsing history much easier.
Google came up with this idea so you can keep the previous history intact but remove just 15min time frame, no additional explanation was given on why 15 but I presume it is some round number that came up as the middle one with research, read telemetry info.
Using quick delete requires being signed into Search with a Google account. Users can access the option by simply tapping on the avatar icon to access the settings then choosing "Delete last 15 minutes."
