In order to start recording first, we need to bring game mode by pressing ⊞ WINDOWS + G
In the Game Bar overlay screen, look for the “Capture” window.
If you don’t see it, click the Widget menu icon on the left. It looks like several lines with bullet points to their left.
A drop-down list will appear; click “Capture.” The “Capture” shortcut may also be in the Game Bar toolbar.
Look for the “Capture” widget window in the overlay. There are four buttons on the Capture widget (from left to right):
- Screenshot: Takes a screenshot of the active window.
- Record last 30 seconds: Creates a recording of the previous 30 seconds.
- Start recording: Starts recording your active window.
- Turn on the mic while recording: If this option is enabled, Windows 10 will capture audio from your computer’s microphone and include it in the recording.
You’ll notice text underneath the buttons. This is how you’ll know what the active window is, aka what will be recorded. For example, if you’re browsing the web, it will show the title of the open tab.
To start recording your screen, you must first decide whether you want to use your mic, which is useful if you’re trying to explain something on the screen.
Next, simply click the Start Recording button.
The screen recording will begin, and you’ll see a little toolbar appear in the corner of the screen. It will show the running time of the recording, and it also has buttons to stop recording and toggle the microphone.
When you’re finished, click the Stop icon to end the recording.
From the Capture widget, click “Show All Captures” to see your recording.
Your recording will be at the top of the list. Click the folder icon to see all recordings and screenshots in File Explorer.
These recordings are stored under your Windows user folder at C:\Users\NAME\Videos\Captures by default.

Change the Taskbar Size in Windows 11

Default Taskbar inside Windows 11 is pretty good if we are talking about its height. Right Click on it to select it and create a new DWORD (32-bit) value
Name the value TaskbarSi
Inside TaskbarSi double click in order to set the value to 0 if you want a small size Taskbar, 1 is if you want to revert back to medium (standard one), or type in 2 if you want a large Taskbar.
Save and close the Registry editor
Reboot PC

So you have just got home from that new computer store with your fancy and all-new mouse, screen, keyboard, etc. You plugged in your new component, Windows detected it, installed drivers for it and it is working like a charm. A few months later down the road and the computer starts little by little to slow down. Plug and play is a great concept, and automatic detection is even greater but how time passes old unused stuff piles in your hard drive and in Windows itself thus slowing down your computer and taxing it more and more as new components and software are added. Old drivers from old components sadly are not removed from Windows itself and over some larger period of time they can pile up and slow down your daily operations on the computer or even cause some problems in it. Making old devices visible

In order for us to remove old drivers, the first thing we must do is make them visible in our device manager, old drivers are hidden and will not show up, we must make this happen. We do this by pressing WINDOWS + X keys on your keyboard to bring up a hidden menu in Windows. keyboard with windows and x marked

Once the menu appears, click on Command Prompt (admin)

Once the command prompt with administrator privileges comes on-screen type in it following string:

SET DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES=1

This command will force Windows to show all devices in the device manager including old ones that are not used anymore, but since their drivers are still installed, devices will show up. When you type command press ENTER. Once again press WINDOWS + X to show the hidden menu but this time choose the device manager

Removing old device

Open any category and if there is a device that was once used and still has its drivers in the system it will be shown as faded out. Right-click on the device and click on uninstall device to remove it completely from your system. device manager uninstall device driver

Please always be careful when removing devices so you do not remove the device which is being used by mistake and always double-check that you are removing something that you used to have on your system. This method will show all hidden devices even ones that are hidden but crucial to the system working properly.

Valve has released a big update to its online store and distribution platform Steam. Among typical bugs fixing and making the user experience a little more fluid, we have received some major updates as well. The storage management page has received a complete redesign and UX overhaul and it is now much easier to manage your game libraries and create new ones. Another thing with the Steam store management page is the ability to move installation files from one location to another. Let’s say that you have two or more hard disk drivers in your machine and that you have SSD that you use for running stuff since it is fast and larger and slower one for storage. Now you can easily and quickly move one installation from one to another in order to take advantage of your faster SSD for quicker LOAD game times without making a new installation.

Steam Download page improvements

The download page has also received some love from Valve by enabling us to now see the installation progress. So far on the download page of Steam, you would only get download progress but it has been updated to show installation progress after download as well now making it more straightforward and giving you a general idea of how much more time there is to wait in order to start gaming. steam download page
