One of the most useful utilities on a Windows 10 computer is the Windows File Explorer. It is undeniably one of the File Managers out there full of features on all the platforms. However, it is not without its issues and one of the most common ones most users encounter is when you are trying to open a folder or a location on File Explorer and it displays a message saying, “Working on it…” as it tries to load the content of that location or folder. This kind of issue mainly occurs to computers that run on an HDD although that doesn’t mean that it can’t happen to other computers that run an SDD. And so if the File Explorer on your Windows 10 computer keeps getting stuck on the “Working on it…” message along with a green animation bar moving very slowly while loading the contents of the folder, then it’s best if you follow the options given below to resolve this problem.

Option 1 – Try deleting the contents of the Automatic Destinations folder

• Tap the Win + R keys on your keyboard to open the Run utility.
• And then type “%AppData%MicrosoftWindowsRecentAutomaticDestinations” and hit Enter to open this location.
• From there, select all the files and tap the Shift + Delete key combination.
• After that, you will get a prompt that will ask you if you want to delete all the files permanently, just click on Yes. This will delete all the Quick Access cache.
• Now check if you can now open a folder or a location without the “Working on it…” message.

Option 2 – Try to rebuild the Search Index

• First, open the Indexing Options using the Search bar.
• Next, click on the appropriate listing, e.g. Users folder.
• After that, click on the Advanced button. This will open a mini-sized window and from there, go to the Index Settings tab.
• Then click on the “Rebuild” option under the Troubleshooting section.
• Now click on OK after the rebuilding is completed. This should rebuild the search index for all the files and thus, fix the File Explorer stuck on the “Working on it…” message.

Option 3 – Try to optimize the folder for General Items

You might also want to try optimizing the folder for General Items as it can help the File Explorer to load the contents faster.

• Just right click on the folder that takes time to load the contents in it and is showing the “Working on it…” message.
• After that, click on Properties to open the Properties mini window.
• From there, go to the Customize tab and click on the drop-down menu to “Optimize this folder for” under the “What kind of folder do you want?” section and then select General Items.
• Then check the checkbox with a label that says, “Also apply this template to all subfolders” and click on the OK button to save the changes.
• Restart File Explorer and check if the problem is now fixed or not.

Option 4 – Try performing a System Restore

Running System Restore can also help you resolve whatever issue that’s causing the “Working on it…” message. You can do this option either by booting into Safe Mode or in System Restore. If you are already in the Advanced Startup Options, just directly select System Restore and proceed with the next steps. And if you have just booted your PC into Safe Mode, refer to the steps below.

• Tap the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
• After that, type in “sysdm.cpl” in the field and tap Enter.
• Next, go to the System Protection tab then click the System Restore button. This will open a new window where you have to select your preferred System Restore point.
• After that, follow the on-screen instructions to finish the process and then restart your computer and check if the problem is fixed or not.

What is 0x3D55? As you know, Windows 10 is loaded with various Universal Windows Platform or UWP apps such as the Microsoft News, Weather, Calculator, Windows Mail, and many other applications that are based on the modern UWP platform of Microsoft that was introduced in Windows 10. Each one of these apps has a shared piece of code in the kernel for them to be able to get executed across any device that runs the Windows 10 OS which includes laptops, PCs, 2-in-1 devices, mobile phones, mixed reality headsets, and many more. However, there are times when the runtime information for these apps ends up getting corrupted which causes them not to function as expected and throws errors like the error 0x3D55. This kind of error can be pinned down when the UWP app malfunctions and you can also find an error message in the Event Log that reads, “0x3D55: Package family <App name with ID> runtime information is corrupted”. So if you encounter this error, read on for this post will walk you through fixing it. There are three suggestions you need to check out to fix this error – first, you can try to reset the Microsoft Store cache, second, you can try to re-register or reinstall the problematic app and lastly, run the Windows Store App troubleshooter.

Option 1 – Try to reset the Microsoft Store cache

Just like browsers, Microsoft Store also caches as you view apps and games so it is most likely that the cache is no longer valid and must be removed. To do so, follow the steps below.

• Right-click on the start button and click on Command Prompt (administrator).
• Next, type in the command, “wsreset.exe” and tap Enter. Once you do, the command will clear the cache for the Windows Store app.
• Now restart your PC and afterward, try opening Microsoft Store again and then try to install your app or update your computer again.

Option 2 – Run the Microsoft Store Apps troubleshooter

The Microsoft Store Apps Troubleshooter will help you in fixing the error 0x3D55. This is a great built-in tool from Microsoft that helps users fix any app installation issues. So this is worth a try to solve the problem. This built-in tool also helps you fix the Windows 10 Store if it isn’t working. To use the Windows Store Troubleshooter, follow the steps below.

1. Tap Win + I keys again to open the Windows Settings panel.
2. Go to Update & Security and then go to Troubleshoot.
3. On your right-hand side, scroll down to find the Windows Store Apps and then click on the Run the troubleshooter option and see if it fixes the problem.

Option 3 – Try to re-register the UWP app via PowerShell

• First, type “command prompt” in the Start Search and right-click on Command Prompt and then select the “Run as administrator” option.
• Next, navigate to this location in the command line utility: C:/Users/<Insert Username>/AppData/Local/Packages
• After that, execute the “DIR” command to view the list of all the directories in the given location.
• Once the list appears, look for the ID of the problematic app and take note of it.
• Now tap the Win + X key combination or right-click on the Start button and click on the Windows PowerShell (Admin) option.
• If a User Account Control or UAC prompt appears, just click on Yes to proceed and open the Windows PowerShell window.
• Next, type in or copy-paste the following command to re-register the Microsoft Store app and tap Enter:

PowerShell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted -Command "& {$manifest = (Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.<YOUR APP ID HERE>).InstallLocation + 'AppxManifest.xml' ; Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $manifest}"

• Wait for the process to be completed and then restart your computer.

A lot of controversies and mixed emotions have come from statements about Windows 11 minimum system requirements, especially ones linked to TPM. Naturally, each time some software company giant announces how things are must have there are people who go out and prove them wrong. Raspberry Pi 4 and things you need for Windows 11 installation

In order to actually install Windows 11 on your Pi, there are certain things that you will need. Check out the below list and prepare everything.

• Raspberry Pi 4 4GB or 8GB
• A 32GB or larger SSD via a USB 3 caddy. Best for performance or 16GB or larger microSD card
• USB boot enabled, see below.
• A micro SD card with the latest Raspberry Pi OS
• Windows 10 PC
• USB to Ethernet or WiFi dongle
• Bluetooth dongle (if you want Bluetooth)
• Keyboard, mouse, HDMI, and power for your Raspberry Pi

Configuring Pi to boot from SSD

In order to boot from SSD be sure that firmware and bootloader are up to date on the latest version and upgrade if needed. Be aware that this firmware update can only be performed using the official Raspberry Pi OS. Also if you are eager and want to use a standard microSSD card instead of an SSD to run Windows 11 feel free to skip this entire section.

1. Boot from microSSD with the latest Raspberry Pi OS on it.
2. Update firmware and OS using the terminal by typing sudo apt update sudo apt full-upgrade sudo rpi-update
3. Reboot your Pi
4. Install the latest version of bootloader again using the terminal with the command sudo rpi-eeprom-update -d – a
5. Reboot Pi
6. Launch raspi-config on your Pi via terminal with sudo raspi-config
7. Select option 3 (Boot options – Configure options for start-up) from boot options
8. Select Boot ROM version and press ENTER
9. Select latest and then OK
10. Select NO when prompted to reset boot ROM to defaults on the latest version boot ROM selected screen. Press OK
11. Select Boot order and press ENTER
12. Select USB Boot and click on OK and remove microSD card from Pi
13. Select Finish and click on NO when prompted to reboot

Creating Windows 11 installation image for Pi 4

In order to install Windows 11 on our Pi, we must create an installation image, follow the steps below explaining the process.

1. Go to https://uupdump.net/
2. Search for Windows 11 Arm
3. Select the latest build for arm64
4. Select Language on which you would like installer and Windows
5. Pick Windows edition you would like
6. Set download method to Download and convert to ISO and click on Create download package
7. Extract downloaded content into win11 folder and go into it
8. Double click on uup_download_windows.cmd
9. On the security warning screen click on More info and then on Run anyway
10. Wait for the process to finish completely
11. Once the process is finished, press 0 to close the prompt

Installing image on microSSD or SSD

If previous steps of instruction were follower precisely you now have an ISO image that can be installed onto microSSD or SSD

1. Connect SSD or insert microSSD card into your PC
2. Go to https://www.worproject.ml/downloads
3. Download Windows on Raspberry imager and extract it into the win11 folder
4. Open Imager and allow it to make changes to your computer, set your language, and click on next
5. Select storage drive where you would like to install Windows
6. Set device type and click on next
7. Select our Windows 11 ISO image we created and click on next
8. On the drivers screen select Use the latest driver package available on the server
9. On UEFI firmware select screen choose Use the latest firmware available on the server
10. On configuration screen click on next
11. Check your setting on the installation overview and if everything is ok click on install
12. Wait for the whole process to be finished
13. Once the process is completed, close Windows on Raspberry imager, take out SSD or microSSD card from PC and connect it on your Pi along with Pi peripherals.

Setting Windows 11 on Pi

In order to actually use Windows 11 on our Raspberry Pi we now have to set up the Windows 11 install using the standard post-installation setup sequence.

1. Power up Pi and press ESC when prompted
2. Go to Device manager and press ENTER
3. Select Raspberry Pi Configuration
4. Select Advanced configuration
5. Set Limit RAM to 3GB to a disabled state, press F10 to save, and ESC to exit.
6. Select Display configuration
7. Set the resolution to desired option and press ENTER, F10 to save, and ESC to exit
8. Go to CPU configuration
9. Check if the CPU clock is set to default, if not set it
10. Press ESC to go back all the way to the main menu
11. Select Continue to exit BIOS and boot your Raspberry Pi with Windows 11 on it

And there you have it, fully working Windows 11 OS on Raspberry Pi despite what Microsoft says Note that due to lack of some drivers performance can be less than optimal, for example, full HD videos will not work since there are no compatible graphic drivers for Pi and some other stuff like Wi-Fi will also cause some issues but overall Windows 11 is working pretty well.

A lot of users have experienced various issues either in installing a Feature or a Windows Update. One of these errors is the one with the error code 0x80d02002. If you are one of the users who is facing this problem right now, then the working solutions given in this post will surely help. The Windows Update error code 0x80d02002 indicates that Windows 10 fails to upgrade or install as there is some issue with the files that have been downloaded and Windows encounters an error in installing them. Thus, the best thing you can do in such a case is to start the installation from scratch but before you do that, here are some suggestions that might help.

Option 1 – Try to rename the SoftwareDistribution folder

The Software Distribution folder in the Windows operating system is a folder that can be found in the Windows directory and is used to store files temporarily which might be required to install the Windows Update on your PC. Thus, it is required by the Windows Update and maintained by WUAgent. Aside from that, it also contains all the Windows Update History files and once you delete them, you will most likely lose the Update history. As a result, the next time you run the Windows Update, it may result in a longer detection time.

• Open the WinX Menu.
• From there, open Command Prompt as admin.
• Then type in the following command – don’t forget to hit Enter right after typing each one of them.

net stop wuauserv net stop bits rename c:windowsSoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.bak

• After entering these commands, it will stop the Windows Update Service, the Background Intelligent Transfer Service, and rename the SoftwareDistribution folder.
• Next, got to the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder and get rid of all the folders and files thereby tapping the Ctrl + A keys to select them all and then click on Delete. Note that if the files are in use, you won’t be able to delete them.
• Once all the contents in the Software Distribution folder are deleted, restart your PC and then go back to Command Prompt and input the following commands again.

net start wuauserv net start bits

Since the folder has already been flushed, it will be populated afresh the instant your restart your computer and open Windows Update.

Option 2 – Try to reset the Catroot2 folder

You can also try resetting the catroort2 folder as it is known to fix tons of Windows Update issues including the Windows Update error code 0x80d02002. Both the Catroot and catroot2 are Windows operating system folders that are required for the Windows update process.  So when you run the Windows Update, the catroort2 folders stores the signatures of the Windows Update package and helps it in the installation. It makes use of the “%windir%System32catroot2edb.log” file in the updating process. Afterward, the updates are stored in the SoftwareDistribution folder which is used then by the Automatic Updates in order to execute the updating process. Keep in mind that you must not rename or delete the Catroot folder. Although the Catroot2 folder is recreated automatically by Windows, the Catroot folder isn’t.

Option 3 – Try running the DISM tool to fix the broken Windows Update client

The Windows update/upgrade error 0x80d02002 might be caused by some issues in the Windows Update client so you need to run the DISM tool to repair it. Note that you have to use another computer or another Windows from a shared network to fix it.

Option 4 – Try to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter

Running the built-in Windows Update troubleshooter could also help you resolve the Windows Update error 0x80d02002. To run it, go to Settings and then select Troubleshoot from the options. From there, click on Windows Update and then click the “Run the troubleshooter” button.

Option 5 – Try to run Microsoft’s troubleshooter online

You also have the option to run Microsoft’s online troubleshooter which could help you fix Windows Update errors.

Error Code 0xC004C4AE - What is it?

Activation errors in Windows 10 can interfere with your ability to fully use the system. When Error Code 0xC004C4AE appears on your computer, you may see a message that shows that the validation process has been stalled due to binaries that appear to have been tampered with.  

While the text of this message may sound intimidating to people who are not familiar with the inner workings of the Windows 10 system, the basic meaning of the error message is that something has been introduced to the system that is not natively supported in Windows 10. During the Activation process, Windows checks to ensure that all of the Windows elements that are currently on the computer are valid and authentic to the Windows system. Usually, this particular error code refers to a language package that has been downloaded into the system using an outside application, which the Windows 10 operating system does not support. 

Common symptoms include: 

• An error message when the activation is attempted 
• Inability to complete the Windows 10 Activation process 
• Inability to fully use apps in Windows 10 until the issue is resolved 

This particular error can easily be resolved with a few simple steps. However, if you are not confident in your ability to use the methods below or they do not fully remove the issue on your computer, you may want to seek the assistance of a qualified repair technician who is well versed in the Windows 10 Activation process.

Error Causes

The most basic cause of Error Code 0xC004C4AE is that an unsupported language package has been enabled in the computer. This most often occurs when third-party applications have been used to introduce additional display languages to your system. While third-party applications that provide language packs are acceptable in some versions of the Windows operating system, the Windows 10 Activation process will not be able to complete if the system detects that one of these unofficial language packs exists on your machine.

Further Information and Manual Repair

There are several methods that may be helpful in resolving the basic issue in the display languages that causes Error Code 0xC004C4AE to appear: 

Method 1: Restore Your System to an Earlier Point to Revert Changes 

Use a backup copy to restore your computer to an earlier date, in effect undoing the changes that caused the error. When your system has been restored, you will be able to go through any language packs that are not native to the Windows operating system and remove them before re-attempting the installation and activation of the Windows 10 system. 

This method is most useful if you keep a regular backup of your system and files. If you do not regularly back up the information on your computer, attempt one of the other methods instead. If you are unsure of how to use a backup to revert your changes or are not comfortable completing this step on your own, contact a certified Windows technician to assist you in the process. 

Method 2:  Revert to an Earlier System to Remove the Language Pack 

If you are unable to restore your system using a backup, the other option to resolve Error Code 0xC004C4AE is to halt your installation of Windows 10 and go back to Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, from which you will be able to remove the language pack in question. Once the offending language pack has been completely removed from your computer, the Windows 10 Activation process should be able to proceed normally. 

Several versions of windows don’t support language packages, so the best way to prevent this error from occurring is to avoid using any kind of third-party tool to install additional languages onto your Windows system. Step 4: After that, right-click on the shortcut option you want to rename and then select Properties. Step 5: Next, navigate to the Shortcut tab under the Properties window. Step 6: Now in the text field of Comment, enter the new name of the option you selected. Step 7: Click on the Apply and OK buttons to save the changes made. Note: You can now either Sign back in or sign out of your Windows 10 User Account to see the result of the changes you’ve made. You could also restart the process of File Explorer via Task Manager. This will close the File Explorer as well as the shell components and then only launch the shell components again. In addition, you can check the Win + X menu to see the customized name that you’ve just set for a particular option. As you can see, even though it does not add anything extra, it is still a lot better in knowing how you can customize it.

The Windows Subsystem for Linus, also known as WSL, is a useful and excellent tool for developers. However, it isn’t without flaws as users can still encounter some errors when using it. One of these errors is the error code WslRegisterDistribution, 0x8007019e,0x8000000d. Although it seems like the error is have something to do with the installation of WSL, it could be a false positive since some users who’ve installed WSL still encountered the same problem. Here’s the context of the error:

“Installing, this may take a few minutes… WslRegisterDistribution failed with error: 0x8007019e/0x8000000d Error: 0x8007019e/0x8000000d The parameter is incorrect. Press any key to continue.”

Error code 0x8007019e or 0x8000000d could be due to the absence of supporting Windows 10 features since the error does not even let one use the WSL-based command line. If you are one of the users facing this problem, then you’ve come to the right place as this post will provide you with a couple of suggestions to fix it. There are two options you can check out to fix the problem, but before you do that, you need to make sure that the Windows Subsystem for Linux feature is enabled. The two options include enabling WSL using the “Turn Windows features on or off” option and using the Windows PowerShell.

Option 1 – Try to enable the WSL using the “Turn Windows features on or off” option

• To get started, search for “Turn Windows Features on or off” in the Start Search and click on the appropriate result to open a dialog box.
• After that, you will see a populated list in the dialog box and from there, look for the “Windows Subsystem for Linux” option.
• Once you find it, select OK. This will search and install the system files needed and ask you to restart your computer.
• Restart your computer. The Linux distro should now work without any trouble.

Option 2 – Try to use Windows PowerShell

The next thing you can do to fix the error code 0x8007019e or 0x8000000d is to use Windows PowerShell.

• Tap the Win + X keys and click on the “Windows PowerShell (Admin)” option to open Windows PowerShell as admin.
• After that, execute this command to enable the Windows Subsystem for Linux feature: Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Windows-Subsystem-Linux
• The command you entered will start to search for the required system files and install them.
• If prompted, type “Y” to restart your computer. This should fix the problem.

That is what advertisements and test reels are for to get the audience interested and excited before the piece of media even comes out. It serves to entertain the target audience in the months, maybe even years, up until the release date of this thing they want to play or see and it keeps it in the public mind. It is also great for the viewers because it is a hint to what they will expect when it comes out and it keeps them wanting more excitedly. However, did you know that sometimes computer software releases previews and sneak peeks too?

Outlook 2013

Well, they do and Microsoft has released some sneak peeks and previews of their new Outlook, Outlook 2013! This is probably to get consumers ready for when it comes out next year; people are going to be getting excited about this new makeover that Microsoft Office, with Outlook, has given itself, people from Microsoft even saying it is ‘the most ambitious’ version of Office yet! The new orange color scheme and logo design look promising enough for the consumer without even checking the new features and special things that have been revealed about it yet!

Outlook 2013 Features

The best part of this new Outlook is that you can move widgets around in it. If you don’t like the fact that your inbox is placed over your outbox, you can move it- simple as that! It will be really handy for people who like messing around with layouts and will also be handy for people who tend to overlook things at the bottom of the pile like spam and trash if they can move them to a more noticeable location for themselves. Another great thing is that the new Microsoft Office that Outlook comes with has a cool new stylus option, allowing you to personalize things with your own handwriting or even drawings. This can then be used as your email signature on Outlook which can give a really nice and personal feel to the emails you are sending. Another new thing is their labeling of drafts. Like Gmail, Google’s own email service, a red-lettered ‘draft’ will now appear over composing messages you have not yet sent.

Also, there are new links with Facebook that allow you to see what your friends are doing through Outlook. You can also converse with Facebook friends through Outlook now, which is a big step forward in this age of social media. You can get an email from a person and, at a click of a button, also read all their Facebook posts. However, there is not an option for Twitter or Tumblr or even Myspace, which is a shame I suppose, but maybe in the next update. So, I think Outlook 2013 will be worth looking at, don’t you?

Option 1 – Try to run the Power troubleshooter

As pointed out, the Power troubleshooter can help you resolve any issues your battery might have automatically. It plans and detects system settings that can affect power usages like timeout and sleep settings, display settings, and screensavers and restores them to their default settings. To run this troubleshooter, follow these steps:

• Open the Windows Settings and go to the Update and Security option.
• Next, click on the Troubleshoot option under Update and Security and then scroll down until you see the “Power” option.
• Under Power, click on the “Run the troubleshooter” button to start running the Power troubleshooter.
• Wait for a couple of seconds until the Power troubleshooter is done scanning your computer for issues. Once it’s done, follow the next on-screen instructions that appear on the screen.
• If needed, restart your computer and see if it has fixed the problem.

Option 2 – Restore the default settings of the Power plan manually

• Open the Windows Settings again and select System.
• Next, scroll down until you see the “Power & sleep” option.
• After that, click on the “Additional power settings” option located in the right pane to open the Power Options.
• Now click on the link that says, “Change Plan Settings” and select the “Restore default settings for this plan” option.

Option 3 – Try to uninstall or reinstall the Battery driver

You might also want to uninstall or reinstall the battery driver as it can also resolve the problem. But before you start, you have to shut down your computer and remove the power chord as well as the battery. Once you’re done, follow these steps:

• Plug the power chord and restart your computer.
• Once your computer has restarted, tap the Win + R keys to open the Run utility and type “devmgmt.msc” in the field and tap Enter to open the Device Manager.
• After that, look for the “Batteries” driver from the list of drivers and expand it.
• Then right-click on the “Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System” driver and click on the “Uninstall device” option.
• Once it’s done, restart shut down your computer and remove the power chord and then attach the battery.
• Now attach the power chord again and restart your computer to automatically install the driver.
