BubbleDock Complete Removal Tutorial

BubbleDock is a software developed by Nosibay. It installs a customizable dock at the top of your screen.

It adds registry entities to allow it to start automatically each time your system is rebooted, as well as installing an update checker that will automatically update the software when an update is available. The software also adds various scheduled tasks to start the application at different times, this ensures that once the application is closed, it is re-launched at a later time, making it very hard to keep the software closed permanently.

While the software is running, it will generate ad links in your browser, display sponsored ads, and collect personal information and deliver it back to it’s ad network.
While using this software you may see additional ads, banners, links, pop-up ads, and various other sponsored content while browsing the internet.

About Potentially Unwanted Applications

Have you ever found out an unwanted program running on your computer system and wondered exactly how the heck it got there? A PUA / PUP (potentially unwanted application / potentially unwanted program) is actually a piece of software that comes bundled with freeware and you consent to install it on your computer. These are programs you certainly don’t want on your computer since it does not provide any beneficial service.

From a technical standpoint, a PUP isn’t “true” malware. An interesting difference between PUP and malware is distribution. Malware is commonly dropped via vulnerability exploitation whereas PUP gets installed with the consent of the user, who purposefully or unwittingly authorizes the PUP installation on their PC. Although a PUP is not malware by definition, it can still be harmful software and put your computer at risk exactly the same way a computer virus does.

Exactly how do PUPs look like?

PUPs come in many forms; however, most of them are adware, which usually displays irritating adverts and advertising banners on internet pages that you’re surfing. PUPs which come as browser add-ons and toolbars are widely recognizable. These toolbars alter your homepage and your default search engine in the installed web browser, track your internet activities, modify your search results with re-directs and sponsored hyperlinks, and eventually slow down your internet browser and diminish your web browsing experience.

Potentially Unwanted Programs occasionally act quite much like viruses or spyware. They will carry dialers, keyloggers, as well as other software built right into them that may monitor you or deliver your sensitive details to 3rd parties. Even if the PUPs are not basically malicious, these applications still do practically nothing good on your personal computer – they’ll take precious system resources, slow your PC, weaken your device’s security, and make your PC more susceptible to viruses.

Preventing PUPs

• Study the fine print to be sure the end-user license agreement (EULA) you are accepting is only for the program you actually intend to download.
• Never accept standard, express, default, or other installation settings which are recommended. Always opt for custom installation.
• Use a good anti-malware program. Try Safebytes Anti-Malware which will spot PUPs and handle them as malware by flagging them for deletion.
• Avoid shareware or freeware wherever possible. Disable or get rid of toolbars and browser extensions you don’t actually need.
• Don’t download software from popups, online advertising, file sharing sites, as well as other unreliable sources; look out for any pre-set, unwanted features when downloading the program. Avoid heading to blogs and websites that promote pirated programs.

How To Install Safebytes Anti-Malware On An Infected Computer

Practically all malware is inherently unsafe, but certain kinds of malicious software do a lot more damage to your computer than others. Certain malware goes to great lengths to prevent you from downloading or installing anything on your personal computer, particularly antivirus applications. So what should you do if malicious software keeps you from downloading or installing Anti-Malware? There are some solutions you could try to get around with this particular obstacle.

Install in Safe Mode with Networking

Safe Mode is a unique, simplified version of Microsoft Windows where only the bare minimum services are loaded to stop malware and other troublesome applications from loading. In the event, the malicious software is set to load immediately when the PC starts, switching to this mode can prevent it from doing so. In order to enter into Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking, press the F8 key while the PC is starting up or run MSCONFIG and look for the “Safe Boot” options under the “Boot” tab. After you restart the PC into Safe Mode with Networking, you may download, install, as well as update the anti-malware program from there. Now, you can run the anti-virus scan to remove computer viruses and malware without interference from another application.

Switch to some other internet browser

Web-based malware could be environment-specific, aiming for a particular internet browser or attacking specific versions of the web browser. If you’re not able to download the security software program using Internet Explorer, this means the virus may be targeting IE’s vulnerabilities. Here, you must switch over to a different browser like Firefox or Chrome to download Safebytes Anti-malware software.

Create a portable USB antivirus for removing viruses

Here’s yet another solution which is creating a portable USB antivirus software that can scan your computer for malware without needing installation. Abide by these steps to run the anti-virus on the affected computer.
1) Use another virus-free computer to download Safebytes Anti-Malware.
2) Plug the Flash drive into the clean computer.
3) Double-click the Setup icon of the antivirus software to run the Installation Wizard.
4) When asked, select the location of the USB drive as the place where you would like to put the software files. Follow the activation instructions.
5) Now, transfer the USB drive to the infected PC.
6) Double-click the antivirus program EXE file on the flash drive.
7) Hit the “Scan Now” button to start the virus scan.

Fix Failed to transfer logged messages ...
One of the most common hardware issues with any PC usually has something to do with the hard drive so if your hard drive experiences some errors, you could end up losing a lot of important information that’s stored in your computer. This is why Windows provided users with the CHKDSK utility which helps in looking for bad sectors on the drive. However, there are times when the CHKDSK utility could also face issues like the following error:
“Failed to transfer logged messages to the log event with status 50.”
According to security experts, this error is most likely due to the hard drive or RAM being in a “Read-only” state. It could also be due to some physical issues with the hard drive. On the other hand, it could be that the system is prevented from creating logs by some drive, service, or malware. To fix this error, you have to check if the hard disk is writable. You could also try to run the CHKDSK utility in Safe Mode or you could also check the physical status of your hard disk or external drive.

Option 1 – Check if the hard disk is writable

Although the CHKDSK utility checks for bad sectors in the hard drive, it also has to create logs of the result. And as states in the error message, the CHKDSK utility is not able to log the logged messages. This kind of error occurs when the log can’t be written to an installation disk. You can find the log in this location, “C:WindowsSystem32LogfilesSrtSrtTrail.txt”. Now you have to check if the drive writable by following these steps:
  • Log in as administrator and right-click on the system drive.
  • Select Properties and then go to the Security tab. Here, check if you are allowed to modify the drive. If not, click on Edit (as an administrator).
  • Now edit the permissions for the SYSTEM and Administrators group. Note that these are the only default settings for these two groups or usernames.
  • Then click on the Apply button save the changes made and exit.

Option 2 – Run the CHKDSK utility in Safe Mode

You could also try to run the CHKDSK utility in Safe Mode as this might solve the error.
  • Boot your computer in Safe Mode.
  • Next, open Command Prompt with admin privileges.
  • Then type and enter this command to execute it: chkdsk c: /f /r
  • Wait until the process is completed and boot your computer normally and then run the CHKDSK utility again and check if the “Failed to transfer logged messages to the log event with status 50” error is now fixed.

Option 3 – Try to check the hard disk or external drive physically

If the first two options didn’t work, you might want to check the physical status of your hard disk or external drive as the problem could root from there. You can try to tighten the wires that connect the hard disk to the motherboard. However, if it doesn’t help, you should seek out assistance from a hardware technician.

  • Once you’re done, restart your computer to apply the changes made successfully.

Option 2 – Try to use Command Prompt

If the registry tweaks you applied didn’t fix the Activation error, then you can try using Command Prompt instead. Note that you can use this option in both scenarios pointed out above.
  • First, you have to insert a bootable drive of the Windows10 installer.
  • Next, tap the Win + X keys and select Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
  • After opening Command Prompt as admin, navigate to the root location of the bootable drive inside the Command Prompt command line.
  • Once you’re already there, type the following command and tap Enter:
setup.exe /auto upgrade /pkey <YOUR WINDOWS 10 PRO EDITION PRODUCT KEY>
After entering the command, check if it was able to fix the Windows Upgrade or Activation error 0xc03f6506. If not, refer to the next given option below.

Option 3 – Try to disable the Network Adapter

Just like the second option, you can also use this option for both the given scenarios above.
  • Tap the Win + X keys and select Network Connections from the menu.
  • This will open the settings for your network and on the left side panel, click on the “Change adapter settings” link. This will open Control Panel.
  • From there, click on the network your computer is connected to, and then right-click on the Network Adapter that you are using and select Disable.
  • After disabling the Network Adapter, try to switch to the edition of your copy of Windows 10 again and see if the problem is now fixed and don’t forget to double click on the disabled Network Adapter to get back on the Network.

How to Fix Windows 10 Error 0x8007001

Error Code 0x8007001 - What is it?

Error Code 0x8007001 occurs during installations that take place in Windows 10.  Various versions of this same error have also been present in previous editions of the software and the methods to resolve the error across these versions are the same

Common symptoms include:

  • Inability to complete the installation process for updates, programs, and system versions.
  • Installations quitting out in the middle of the process, particularly as the files are unpacked.

Several solutions for Error Code 0x8007001 require the user to complete semi-complex tasks. If you aren’t comfortable with the processes necessary to finish the methods below, make sure that you get in touch with a certified professional who is familiar with the Windows operating system to assist you in the resolution of the error code.

Solution

Restoro box imageError Causes

In many cases, Error Code 0x8007001 is caused by an installation disk that is not functioning properly or installation files that have been corrupted or changed. When this is the case, the operating system will not be able to begin actually installing the files and will instead hang up as the files are unpacked from the installation set.

Further Information and Manual Repair

For Error Code 0x8007001 to be repaired properly, the missing or corrupted installation files need to be repaired or the system needs to be able to recognize the files that it is missing. This can require some advanced computing knowledge. If you don’t feel comfortable with the idea of undertaking the methods below on your own, contact a computer repair technician who can assist you in following these steps.

Method One:  Load the Install Files on an Alternative Disk

In some cases, the operating system simply cannot recognize the installation files that are present on the disk in question, whether it is on a hard drive, a set of downloaded files, or files from a flash drive. If this is the case on your particular machine, the simplest way to work around the problem is to load the installation files onto an alternative disk source, whether it be a flash drive, CD, DVD, or secondary hard drive. After these files have been properly loaded onto that alternative disk, attempt to run the installation from the alternative source instead.

If this method is successful, it means that the system may have had trouble recognizing the files involved in the installation from the first source, but that the files themselves were not corrupted or changed.

Make sure that you save the alternative disk source after your installation is complete in case you ever need to do a fresh installation on your machine.

Method Two:  Clean Your Disc and Your Drive

If you are installing files from a DVD or CD, check to make sure that the back of the disc is free from scratches and dust. If there are no visible marks on the disc, you may need to open up your disk drive to see if there is a build-up of dust or debris inside of the drive. If this is the case, simply clean your drive and re-attempt your installation process from the included disk.

Method Three:  Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter and Update Your Programs

If the error code is still appearing on your machine, you can open up your Windows Update tool and run the troubleshooting wizard, which will then scan your machine to see if there are any potential problems that it can fix. Next, run the Update tool itself if there are any updates that need to be performed. Sometimes, this can resolve the error at hand. Make sure to restart your computer after any updates or changes have been made so that you can ensure that they are applied by the operating system appropriately.

Method Four: Use An Automated Tool

If you wish to always have at your disposal a utility tool to fix these Windows 10 and other related issues when they do arise, download and install a powerful automated tool.

Windows is unable to run Automatic Maintenance
As you know, Windows has a built-in Automatic Maintenance feature that takes care of important tasks such as security scanning and updating, Windows software updates, Disk Defragmentation, System Diagnostics, Disk Volume Errors, and many more. So if you receive an error message saying, “Windows is unable to run automatic maintenance, The maintenance schedule is unavailable”, then this post will guide you in what you can do to resolve this issue. Here are some suggestions you can try if the Automatic Maintenance in your Windows 10 PC is not able to run.

Option 1 – Enable Automatic Maintenance

It is possible that Automatic Maintenance has been disabled so you can try enabling Automatic Maintenance on your Windows 10 PC. To do so, follow these steps:
  • Go to Control Panel.
  • From there, select System and Security > Security and Maintenance > Automatic Maintenance.
  • After that, set the time you want to run the Automatic Maintenance and then check the checkbox saying, “Allow scheduled maintenance to wake up my computer at the scheduled time”.
  • Click OK to save the changes.
On the other hand, you can also enable Automatic Maintenance via the Registry Editor. But before you proceed, you need to create a System Restore Point first.
  • Tap the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
  • After that, type “Regedit” in the field and hit Enter to open the Registry Editor.
  • Navigate to the following path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionScheduleMaintenance
  • Next, look for the “MaintenanceDisabled” key and then double click on it to open it and then set its value to “0”.
  • Click OK and exit the Registry Editor.
  • Restart your computer.

Option 2 – Check the Task Scheduler Services status

Majority of the tasks in Windows 10 run via services. So it is most likely that either the Service has been stopped or is set to the manual which is why Windows is unable to run Automatic Maintenance. Thus, you need to change it to automatic mode.

  2. Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them.
  3. Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.

Option 5 – Run the DISM tool

The DISM tool is another command-line tool in the Windows operating system that could help users fix various corrupted system files. To use it, follow these steps:
  • Open the Command Prompt as admin.
  • Then type in this command: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Babylon Removal Tutorial

What is Babylon?

Babylon is a self-published computer dictionary and translation program. Babylon is a tool used for translation and conversion of currencies, measurements, and time, and for obtaining other contextual information. The program also uses a text-to-speech agent so users hear the proper pronunciation of words and text. Babylon’s translation software adds the Babylon toolbar identified as a browser hijacker. This toolbar may modify the homepage of the browser. It adds a Scheduled Task, Startup file, and Registry Keys that allow it to run at any time. A Windows Firewall exception is also added for the software, allowing it to connect to the internet without content.

About Browser Hijackers

Browser hijacking is actually a type of unwanted software program, commonly a browser add-on or extension, which causes modifications in browser settings. Browser hijackers will do a number of things on your computer. Often, hijackers will force hits to internet sites of their choice either to increase targeted traffic generating higher ad revenue, or to obtain a commission for each and every user visiting there. It could seem harmless, but the majority of these websites aren’t legitimate and can present a significant risk to your online safety. Additionally, hijackers can make the entire infected system fragile – other harmful malware and viruses will take hold of these opportunities to get into your PC effortlessly.

Signs of browser hijacker malware

There are several symptoms of browser hijacking. Here are a few of them: the home page of your browser is changed all of a sudden; new bookmarks pointing to porn websites are added to your favorite pages; the default browser settings have been modified and/or your default search engine is altered; unsolicited new toolbars are added to your internet browser; you notice a lot of pop-ups on your computer screen; your web browser gets sluggish, buggy, crashes frequently; you cannot go to certain sites such as homepages of anti-malware software.

How it infects your computer

Browser hijackers may use drive-by downloads or file-sharing networks or perhaps an email attachment in order to reach a targeted computer system. They may also originate from any BHO, browser extension, toolbar, add-on, or plug-in with malicious intent. Sometimes you might have accidentally accepted a browser hijacker as part of a software bundle (usually freeware or shareware). Examples of well-known browser hijackers include Fireball, GoSave, Ask Toolbar, CoolWebSearch, Babylon Toolbar, and RocketTab. The existence of any browser hijacker on your system will considerably diminish the browsing experience, monitor your online activities that lead to troublesome privacy issues, produce system stability issues and finally cause your PC to slow down or to a nearly unusable state.

Browser hijacker removal tips

Some hijackers can be easily removed by deleting the free software they were included with or by eliminating any add-ons you’ve recently added to your computer system. Sadly, most of the software packages used to hijack a web browser are intentionally designed to be hard to eliminate or detect. And there’s no denying the fact that manual fixes and removal can be quite a difficult task for an inexperienced PC user. Besides, there are numerous risks associated with fiddling around with the pc registry files. Anti-malware application is extremely efficient when it comes to picking up and eliminating browser hijackers that regular anti-virus program has overlooked. To get rid of any kind of browser hijacker from your PC, you could download this top-notch malware removal tool – Safebytes Anti-Malware.
